"Oh boy you're giving me all of DBZ!? I loved this show as a kid!....Oh.....awwwwgawd...wha....whazzis!? Why!? I....I don't even...why!? I didn't want this! Not like dis'!"

*cough*

Anyway, I find this dreadfully interesting so far as this is the first time in a long time the DBZ gravy train has derailed. Would it be too Chicken Little to call this the beginning of the end?
 I actually didn't "give them" away, he was more than willing to buy them off me, I was a bit reluctant on selling them at first but I already have all the episode and movie singles as well so I had no use for them and I was running out of space in my wardrobe. He honestly didn't care for most of the flaws as he already watched them once or twice but I told him how the Level sets were getting remastered properly and getting released on Blu-ray.
My friend is exactly the same.. we're both hardcore DBZ fans in terms of loving the show, but he's more "casual" about it than I am.. I'm the type that takes hours researching on releases and going through the depths of the internet to find Dragonbox vol. 2. He's the type that goes to the store, sees the orange brick and gets it because it's there. I told him about all the flaws the OBS has in comparison to the Dragonboxes and all he said was "I don't give a shit about that stuff." He's the kind of guy that already owns the orange bricks and wouldn't be interested in a blu-ray release since all he wants to do is be able to see Goku punch the living shit out of villains. He's your normal Dragonball Z fan in the U.S.

I can't see another release topping the orange brick sells. It's on DVD, it's easy to get at stores, normal people don't care about the widescreen cropping, it has Brice Faulconer music.. it's perfect for them.

This will bother me until funimation releases all 291 episodes uncut, fullscreen, and with the american music.
With these BDs the first 53 episodes would have finally been release uncut, fullscreen with the american music.

Do you guys think funimation will try to release Z on BD again?
If Toei does it then they'll jsut buy it from Toei.
I just hope funimation uses the same audio tracks from there BDs on to Toei's.

Yup, and everyone who bought the BDs were simply exercising their right to free speech.

Either they weren't speaking loudly enough, or FUNimation's hard of hearing. That explains the cancellation of the BDs.

So it has been confirmed that these are indeed canceled? or is it just guessing?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

well, I'm not going to doubt anybody I'd say they are. :( But I still think this is dirty of Funimation. They didn't force me to pay for their product but they did have me believing they were going to finish it. as I've said before, If Funimation doesn't pick this back up ''I will never purchase another product of their's until it's complete'' I mean these level sets are perfect! I have no problems with them at all. And the Intro video that plays while you're selecting an episode is awesome.

They're cancelled.

Gotham just doesn't understand that.

They aren't cancelled yet. All speculation. a lot here just love going to conclusions when they don't know anything at all yet.

Hopefully something good comes out of this.

Also a question: Does the people that work at Funimation understand that when they cancel a product or release Shitty stuff such as their orange brick sets. That people start loosing faith in them as a company and do they not think ''Well if we cancel these than what's to say the next time we release this, that people would want to take a chance?'' excuse my language But if Toei is willing to put their balls to the grind and remaster something than Funimation should step up their game as well. And yes I know Toei has more money than Funimation.

I sure hope this release isn't over. I doubt they are but I have a bad feeling they're going to restart the releases with a drop in quality.

Let's be clear.

Two products, that were to be sold in March and in June are no longer going to be sold in March and in June.

If you email the company to ask when they are going to be sold, the answer you will get is "those are not currently planned for release."

That means they have been cancelled.

So true. They are pushed back forever, like what happened to Kai Soundtrack Collection and Raging Blast 2 Original Soundtrack. This release virtually is cancelled though they don't use the word "cancel".

They haven't been 'pushed back' though. They've literally said they will not be producing them.

This isn't a case of a product being 'phantom' pushed back to 'a future date.' They've said they will not be doing them, but they will look at methods to do similar in the future.

My head is getting messed up. Anyway, they're actually cancelled, so Gotham should accept reality. And, I really hope the "methods" will not be like them on the Orange Bricks.

Yeah. You don't really get more official than a press release that says these aren't coming out... so I'm not quite sure what it is he thinks makes this speculation.
