Question about "OVA"

Post by Victator Supreme » Fri Dec 23, 2005 3:18 pm

Will Funimation ever make a dub of the "OVA"? Forgive me fir using OVA, but I could not think of a better term.

Though HIGHLY unlikely, since the rights belong to whoever made the game and not TOEI, I'm not going to say no. I wouldn't be surprised if, after everything's been released ten times over as the "ultimate uncut special widescreen with cherries on top edition!", that Funimation would try to milk the DB cash-cow by releasing the Playdia footage marketed as "Dragonball Z: Choose You Own Adventure!" DVDs.

The only thing more pathetic than that is that I'd buy them.

Screw the "OVA" I'd love to see that "Hyper Dragonball Anime" short on an American DVD.

Who knows? This might add up to the eventual release of an American Dragonbox.

If Toei doesn't own the footage, How was it included on the Dragonbox set?

My guess is that is was licensed. So FUNimation would have to license it from a third party instead of Toei...

I seriously doubt that any of the above-mentioned footage will ever be released by FUNi.

(...but wouldn't it be cool if they did! We can always hope!!..)

I'd like to see that re-done with today's 3D-equiptment.

If they released the footage from the playdia game thne chances are they'd also get the liscenses to everything else. Like those shorts with Goku and Fire Safety.
