I prefer the ocean dub voices in most cases...with the exceptions being pretty much all of the androids..ocean dubs versions of 19 and 17 were cringe worthy. Most of the other voices are very close calls for me though, other than Vegeta (I prefer Drummond far more than Sabat), Goku, and Krillin. Krillin should have a goofball voice like he did in the ocean dub, and Goku will always have a canadian accent to me haha.

Kirby Morrow is horrid as Goku IMO. The order for Goku including the Japanese version IMHO is Nozawa>Kelamis>Ian Corlett>Sean Schemmel>Kirby Morrow>Malaysian>Big Green. As for Kuririn I haven't done that, but my order is Tanaka>Klassen>Strait>Big Green>Malaysian. For Android 17 all English 17s are good. The order is Nakahara=Chuck Huber>Ted Cole>Blue Water. For Vegeta for me it's Horikawa=Drummond>Sabat=Blue Water>Malaysian>Big Green 1st Voice actor>Big Green 2nd Voice actor. For 16 it's Midorikawa>Inman Kai>Inman Z=Scott McNeil. BTW are you Canadian?

Lol nope, not canadian, but I'm a big Ocean dub fan since I started watching DBZ a bit before the funi era fans (seems to be the majority are these days). And I pretty much have the same rankings as you, pretty much exactly. I agree, Morrow is horrid as Goku. What's funny is I just recently found out there were two voice actors in the earlier Ocean DBZ episodes/movies lol, Kelamis and Corlett, to me, sound eerily similar! I can't really choose who I liked better as Goku..I guess I'd say Kelamis since I always liked the first 3 movies so much. My favorite combo, as I've stated before: Ocean dub voices with the japanese bgm. Brings back memories lol

Kelamis is the best English Goku IMO. Then Corlett. I asked if you were a Canadian, because it's hard for non Canadians/non-Americans to tell a typical Canadian accent to the Western American accent. Also, those first 3 movies are the best English dubs, in terms of voice quality!!

Glad to know someone agrees with me! lol those 3 movies in that form are very underrated and overlooked, its like they've been buried by funimation versions.

Yeah I guess it helps that I'm a big Chris Jericho fan and I watch a lot of hockey lol I'm used to the slight accent and can pick it out. But yeah, I love Kelamis as Goku, it just suits the character so well. I think my favorite of the 3 was The World's Strongest, Dr. Wheelo's voice was great! Not to mention I also think Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, Bulma, and Roshi's voices are better than the funimation versions, althought the funi versions are not bad really.

Agreed! I like Jericho as well, he's cool! The Funimation dubs of Movies 1-3 are not as good. Especially, due to the fact Scott McNeil as Piccolo is untouchable by all except the seiyuu. Also they censored 'hell' in the Funimation version. WHA? And Saffron Henderson is a great Gohan. She makes Gohan sound his age without being too rough or too whiny. I can tolerate the Funimation movies of those 3 epic films and even like them a lot, but for 1-3 it's Ocean all the way!

Yeah Jericho is awesome, I've met him twice, really cool guy to talk to.

Scott McNeil's Piccolo in comparison to his death scene during the Nappa fight is just one example of how superior he is to Sabat's, although I like Sabat's version also, just nowhere near as much! Scott just seemed to be into the character far more. And Gohan I agree on as well, Henderson's fit Gohan a bit more, although they're both good in their own ways. Another thing, I think Drummond's Vegeta blows Sabat's out of the water as far as the yelling/powering up goes, sounds way less forced, and more "natural".

Drummond screams are beastly. Sabat is constipated when he screams. This is from Kai. He still sounds constipated

Well technically, Ocean only do sound production so they can't release anything, however since Cancon clearly states that anything recorded in Canada is Canadian property(upon a certain time of course, as DB was Canadian for a short time) it will still be Canadian as long a the company who distribute the DVDs can't bypass Cancon(this includes using voices and or music not produced in Canada. Also Drummond is the best English Vegeta regardless of time frame.

I agree. Drummond IS Vegeta. After all, he's the original "Over 9,000!" haha. Do they have Ocean dub Dragon Boxes over there? Or is that a myth? They're not still releasing DBZ at all over there, or is it through Funimation now? I get confused about that lol

No such thing exists and couldn't since the footage is edited from the original.

Nope. No uncut Ocean released other than the movies.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

It also helps that it has Funi Trunks. I really really don't like the Ocean Trunks (don't like their 16 either but he doesn't say anything in that clip).

I also always laugh watching the "uncensored" version (yes its the one where somebody cut in the oh shit!)

I guess for the "good guy" Vegeta Sabat suits him more, but when he was a villain Drummond had that sinister tone to his voice and the way he yelled.

Also...I thought for sure that really was Dameon Clarke that said "oh shit!"?...

Why post videos with scrolling text? Why not just type it out. Seems like you're taking a lot of unnecessary steps if its just text. At least use video examples. A commentary would be ideal. :?
