Well, I think the main reason why the parody seemed inaccurate to DBZ (Goku not being naive, Gohan looking just like Goku, Gohan's name not being pronounced just quite right) was due to the fact that it's a PARODY. Plain and simple, and I must say I enjoyed it, and also did get a couple laughs out of it. Gohan/28th-Budokai-Goku getting hit in the nads got some laughing out loud instances from me, and I'm glad I taped it. If anyone wants to buy the VHS I taped this on, I'll sell it to ya' for $20 American, no joke. Hilarious parody, glad I caught it, Son using the spirit bomb on an evil Santa topped everything, and you haven't lived till you've heard Goku get his language "beeped" for saying an F bomb. XDDDDDDDD
Parody doesn't work unless it is accurate.

In your opinion and from your point of view, but believe me, this parody worked pretty well, IMO. It was funny, accurate enough, and parodied DragonBall Z pretty well, given it's only 5 minutes long. By the way, if you wanna complaign about parody accuracy, just look at "Sailor and the 7 Ballz". Now that is a scary parody, IMO.

Don't suppose someone knows where I can download the parody; we don't get that show over here.

Which one? I missed the parody. Was it Kaneda or Tetsuo? (Kaneda has been on the show before.)

If that's sarcasm, that was weak even for you.

No, a Parody is meant to make a joke. Some innaccurate names & stuff also makes a joke on it. Since when are balls ever called DragonBalls in the seriesi? That's not factual. It's a joke.

No parody has a very specific meaning. It makes a joke, by making fun of an established work. This failed because it did not know the basics of DBZ to do a proper parody.

Contrast this with last weeks Family Guy that did a great Happy Days parody. It worked because the writers knew a lot about the show. Such as having Peter's decision made while the dramatic Happy Days music was playing.

Who made you the boss of what a Parody is meant to be? Did you invent the word? NO!

I watched it. It was pretty cool, but their lack-of-knowledge about DBZ really hurt more than help... "The Tenka-ichi Budokai is complete!" .. huh?!

What is it with this parody arguement? Maybe it was parodying the dub Goku, since he wasnt quite as naive sounding exactly. Ethier way, doesnt take much to parody DBZ anyhow where the basis is a buncha guys with insane hair-do's and sick super powers envoked when they scream. ^^

And I am pretty sure thats supposed to be the 11 year old Gohan, his hair looked more like Goku's then didnt it?

It doesnt take much to parody DBZ, wouldnt of made a difference if they had only a handful of knowledge or" seen the whole series in Japanese+Read the original manga" knowledge.

There just arent enough aspects to DBZ to parody when they have been constantly parodied already. And especially for a Christmas special...there isnt much to work with there for the Christmas cheer (and laughs).
