Quality Dragon Ball Sites

Post by Mr. Robot » Tue Dec 27, 2005 5:21 pm

When I first got into DBZ I remember a vibrant web community, which seems to be mostly gone now. Since DaizEX's links page is a bit sparse, anybody want to share the names of quality Dragon Ball sites around the net?

Thanks.

P.S. My offer still stands: I'll give...uh...something to the person who figures out what my signature means.

Well I guess it kind of depends on what you are really looking for. So here is my suggestions based what I think each site is best for.

No suck up intended, but if it is information you seek, then Daizenshuu EX is the place to be right now hands down.

However, if you are seeking a large multimedia gallery with lots of cool pictures, cels, screenshots, and the like, checkout myfavoritegames.com.

If you are looking for a cool fan-fic or two, try DBZGT Legacy.

And for fan-manga, I recommend Dragonball Arena. Also, they have a decent fan-art section as well, but enter at your own risk and don't say I didn't warn you.

I hope that helps. Also, there was a nice sight with lots of cool DBZ related music videos called Majin Planet, but that site is currently down but supposedly under construction. They also had a pretty comprehensive image archive as well. Just a reminder that all these suggestions are IMO.
Best. Slip 'n' slide. EVER!

Yes be warned, the reason I don't go in their art section is because people seem to have this great love for Trunks, Vegeta and Goku.

The fan manga section they have is quite rare actually, not many DBZ sites have fan manga sections, maybe a few did, but it's gone down now.

Anyway, this site is one of my favourites. I am happy it's still up.

Also www.dbzgtlegacy.com

Decent site I'd say, it's got a clothing guide for characters all the way through the story and other things like how character's heart's got good and other stuff. Check it out.

Kanzentai.com is great for info, myfavoritegames.com is great if you need screens.

:P Oh, and don't forget Temple O'Trunks for the funniest stuff you've ever read!
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

The only other current DBZ site worth visiting (that I've found) has been Kanzentai. Every other site is either run by people who can't spell their own name, breaks Firefox, or both.

Can't say I disagree with that.

Someone already mentioned Dragonball Arena I think, but I have to agree with them its a great site. Its original language is Italian, but it has an english version as well.
On hiatus.

Well...there's always my fan manga site. I think it's good, but that's me, though I try to be objective. The art's pretty poor in my opinion at first, but it gets much better as the issues go. ^_^;

But yeah, it's disappointing at times to see so many poor or just recycled sites out there.

I just finished reading the comic, and I really enjoyed it. In fact, I want more! So when are you going to update with a new chapter?

I second that. The plot and story so far are very rich and, above all, the art style very closely resembles Toriyama. You even went and did some cool volume covers (the one with the pictures of Yamcha and Barracks was especially good.) Wow! Just wow! Please do more. :D

Wow! I opened that site and really didn't get what I expected... that was great!
I want more! MORE! *cough* Umm... I mean, yeah, more please.

P.S. The cover for "A bad hand" was excellent! I love the fact that it shows just how much Yamcha has been screwed-over.

I too liked this fanmanga when I first read it (you added a chapter!). It reminds me a fanfic-prequel I wrote where Yamcha was a part of a wolf-inspired martial arts school. Lican, another member who betrayed the school, traded his soul to that Akuman character who works for Uranai Baba. In exchange, Lican would be able to transform into a wolf that was twice as powerful than normal. He wanted this so that he could defeat Kamesennin and Tsurusennin in order to become the best martial artist in the world. Yamcha takes him on in order to be popular with the girls. He defeats him by developing the Rogafufuken in mid-battle. The girls of his clan actually do swarm him, but this causes this overwhelms him and causes his fear of women, so he has to leave the school.

No, I'm not trying to hijack your glory or anything; I'm just trying to subtly influence you into turning my fanfic into a fanmanga, since you draw some serious Yamcha-ness, dude!

Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. Glad I could give something of reasonable entertainment value for the topic.

The new issue is 2 pages from being done, but it's been on hiatus from work, my move to Japan, and lately all the great new games released this holiday season. All this feedback has got me more motivated though. Keep checking back for an update every week or so. If my understanding is correct, I think it's against the rules to post that there's an update of one's personal site on this board so...yeah.

Heh hate to burst your bubble, but the story's already written. I've been working on it for years. Funny that you mentioned Uranai Baba though...she'll be making an important appearance or two. Oh, and don't get the wrong idea- it's not just a back story. The flashbacks are just setting up the actual plot to come. This thing is huge (and still canon reverant).

Thanks again to all ^^

No, no, no Thank you for exploring Yamcha. Yamcha, and Kuririn are my favorite characters of the series, and your take on back story is excellent beyond compare. I will say one thing though, Kyonshi is weird, but then a lot of things in Dragonball are.

I totally hope you continue with the sort of 'in-depth' background stuff as seen in the last issue, because I really want to see Yamcha explaining how he was taken in by Kame Sen'inn and trained. That would be most excellent.

As far as updates go, here's an idea: Update your signature to reflect a recent update, whenever you make one. I imagine users will be capable of noticing it quite easily that way.

While this is interesting, please try and keep the thread on-topic (and for that, see the actual title of the thread :P).

Holy shit, is that old (1998's the date on the main page). The links to Wuken's, Radditz's, SonGohan's, SREDBZ's, etc. are all there as proof! I doubt there's a lot of people here that remember all of those... ^^;;.

Steve, if you happen to read this, was this site by any of the guys in #db?
