Just started watching again.

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
I haven't seen every episode, of the original production. The episodes of Dragon Ball I saw, were of the FUNimation dub. Also, I still have yet to read a good translation of the manga, I've been stuck with Viz all these years.. Thankfully there is an organization currently doing a proper translation, but this is called "piracy" to some, and indeed I am... hesitant to associate myself with such.
Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
Sadly, I have not seen all of the original Dragon Ball. Mostly because I can't stand the FUNimation dub. The Japanese dub is alright but I prefer to watch it in English.
- Been a Dragon Ball fan ever since 1995 (at the time, I was 7 years old).
- I prefer Saffron Henderson's Kid Gohan and Kid Goku over Stephanie Nadolny's.
- I still hope for a redub of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z with FUNimation's current cast.
- I prefer to watch Dragon Ball Z with the Faulconer Score, however I do not mind the original Japanese score.

Watching it is better than not watching it at all, be it English or Japanese.redlinks wrote:Sadly, I have not seen all of the original Dragon Ball. Mostly because I can't stand the FUNimation dub. The Japanese dub is alright but I prefer to watch it in English.

Haven't seen most of GT, or any of the DragonBall movies. Also have yet to see "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans".

I've seen everything, except Garlic Jr. arc!
Damn, somewhat I skipped it entirely until the Android arc as it bored me to hell and never watched it again, only played it's portion in Sparking Meteor.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
I haven't seen most of Dragon Ball GT, specifically everything that comes after the Baby story arc. I also haven't seen any of the Buu story arc in uncut Japanese form, only the original uncut Funimation English dub on VHS. But I just got my last three Dragon Boxes in the mail, so that's about to change.
Finally, I haven't seen Wrath of the Dragon, Curse of the Blood Rubies, or The Path to Power at all, and I haven't seen Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle or Mystical Adventure in uncut, Japanese form. I still kind enjoy watching Funi's original dub of SPIDC every now and then because it's interesting to get an early glimpse of their in-house voice cast.
Oh yeah, haven't seen "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans" or "Yo! The Return of Son Goku and Friends!!" either.

I've seen DBZ several times and have the original DVDs and Dragon Boxes. I saw DB and GT on Cartoon Network.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
I've seen everything in its entirety EXCEPT the original Dragon Ball. I've only seen the first 30 or so episodes, from Cartoon Network back in the day. I've been avoiding the (IMO) far too zoomed-in, missing openings/endings, etc. Blue Bricks for something better to come along... Something like... a Dragon Box perhaps?
And what with the Dragon Box survey that FUNimation has dished up, I'd say my wait may not have been in vain!

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
I know we have already joked about me and DBGT, but I have to think real darn good about everything else. I've definitely read the entirety of the manga (as seen by the "Manga Review of Awesomeness" on the podcast, in addition to just having read it all before anyway). I've definitely seen all of DBZ, but I'm not sure if I've actually seen every single last episode of the first series. I own it all, but that doesn't actually mean anything ^_~. The 23rd Tenka-ichi Budokai episodes (the filler before the tournament to the end of the series) were my first fansubs of the first TV series, and come to think of it, I'm not sure how much else of the first series I actually own fansubbed. Maybe some 22nd stuff? But I definitely know a whole bunch of filler from the TV series, and it's not like I could know filler from the manga, so I definitely have watched some/most of it... all of my old FUNimation 2-disc sets are opened and clearly watched, so I've probably seen it all... but some of it likely not more than just once-through.
I've seen pretty much of all of the known ancillary stuff (Plan to Eradicate + remake, Atsumare, movie overview, 2008 JSAT special, Episode of Bardock, blah blah blah).
So if I had to make an educated guess, it's really just a good chunk of DBGT that I've "never" seen.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
Watched most of DB. Not the Red Ribbon arc, maybe a few more episodes here and there.
Watched all of Z multiple times.
Haven't watched all of GT. Yet. Following along with the podcast right now!
Watched most of the movies.
Honestly, as hardcore as I am, it's quite the investment (both financially and time-wise) to legally watch the entire series. Ideally, FUNimation releases the entire series in Dragon Box form. I'd certainly watch the entire thing at that point.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
Well, you can buy all of Dragon Ball (including the movies), and Dragon Ball GT, on Amazon right now for about $190. Assuming you own the Dragon Boxes for DBZ, that only leaves the movies, which would cost you another $65 or so. So...$250 for 100+ hours offers a pretty good entertainment value for your dollar, relatively speaking.fps_anth wrote: Honestly, as hardcore as I am, it's quite the investment (both financially and time-wise) to legally watch the entire series. Edit: Oh yeah, come to think of it, I haven't read the entire manga, either. I read about 9 volumes into Dragon Ball back when Viz wasn't so strict with their censorship - you know, the 'T'-rated releases, but I guess I sort of lost interest and eventually sold my copies at a yard sell. I think I also owned about four volumes of DBZ, which I also sold. Since then, I guess I've just been waiting for a definitive kanzenban-style release in America.

Despite being a Dragonball fan since the original airing of DragonBall in the 90's... All I've ever seen is the first 13 cut up episodes that aired, and for Z, up through the Tenkaichi Budokai during the Buu saga, as well as the first few episodes of GT. But I've seen so many videos, read the manga, and just was kind of caught up in Dragon Ball while it was all airing, it feels like I watched everything. One day, I'll sit down and start watching the whole series from end to end.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
Honestly, I think I HAVE seen all of the series, at least as far as major contributions to the franchise go anyway. I know I've at least seen all of DB, Z, and GT all the way through dubbed, as well as all their accompanying films and specials. I've seen DB and Z all the way subbed now too (for a while now, I've been working on re-experiencing the franchise from the Japanese version), only leaving GT to do now really.
Hmm...using VegettoEX's post as a guideline, I know I've also seen both versions of 'Plan to Eradicate', Atsumare, the Jump special, and Episode of Bardock. The movie overview thing I definitely have not seen though.
The only other things I can think of off the top of my head that I haven't seen are the Chinese live action film if we wanted to count that in this, that other Taiwanese one or whatever it was, and...the newly animated scenes from Ultimate Tenkaichi.
On the flip side though, I've barely read more than a chunk of the manga. I think all that I have (which would be all that I've read to) is VizBigs 1 and 3 of Dragon Ball (so volumes 1-3 and 7-9), volume 16, then for DBZ I have VizBigs 1 and 2 (so volumes 1-6), and then volumes 17, 20-21, and 24-26. So nabbing the rest of the VizBigs is definitely something I need to do.

Re: Is there anyone here who hasn't seen the whole series?
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about Kai in my previous post. For it, I've seen it dubbed all the way through save for the last 5 or 6 episodes (the last 5 are on my DVR still and there's the whole deal with it's final episode not airing, right?). So I need to see the last so many eps dubbed and uncut. I've seen only the first 2 or 3 episodes in Japanese.

You have alternatively the English Blue Water Dub (Canadian Ver.) of Dragon Ball.redlinks wrote:Sadly, I have not seen all of the original Dragon Ball. Mostly because I can't stand the FUNimation dub. The Japanese dub is alright but I prefer to watch it in English.
