Any of that art work would be perfect for the Dragon Ball Dragon Box. I just wish they would've used the art on the front cover of the Dragon Book for Dragon Box Z Vol. 2, for the American Dragon Boxes.

That back cover art is cool to.

if Funimation releases 4 box sets of Dragonball I want these pictures as the covers
in order of the releases 1,4,3,7 :D or mix 5,6,7 on the last box.
Don't forget the other bits of matching character art.

Like the Goku on Kintoun on the front of the packaging.
Goku on Shenlong on the back.
The fact that Bulma and Roshi are actually separate images that could be moved to different boxes.

And that doesn't even include the nice group shot, or the classic style poster art.

Just another aspect of this potential release that makes this so exciting! :P

I'd go two per cover, and maybe leave out Yamucha entirely

I'd put Yamcha and Bulma on one.

It sort of appears that the Bulma/Puar combo is how it was drawn (anytime I've seen that Bulma art I've seen Puar with her.)

Having all three of them on a cover could work.

It'd be nice of them and not too surprising if that were part of their reason for this, but it's not like they really "owe" us anything.
My personal opinion, they do. I'll keep waiting for a complete release of Z uncut, fullscreen , and with the Faulconer music for how ever long it takes.
Dude, if it's really that important for you to have dragonbox footage mixed with Faulconer score, why not show some assertiveness on your part to remedy the issue yourself, instead of whining about funimation "owing" you something.

All you have to do is rip the dragonbox footage and the respective Faulconer dub audio's from either the season set orange bricks or the original Funi singles, put the two of the in a video editor timeline(like MPEG Video Wizard by Womble), tinker around with it a bit, and presto, synched Original Dub Faulconer audio with dragonbox footage you can either watch by authoring your own dvds, or any device that supports a portable or external HD. It's really not that difficult or hard.

But anyway, my point is, if it really bothers you that much, just do something about it. It's better to be proactive and do something about something you want done or changed than just complaining about it on an internet forum. The Dragonboxes aren't targeted at dub fans to begin with. I wouldn't personally care if they did, and honestly speaking, I don't understand why they bothered with putting the Kikuchi 5.1 track as the dub option, since it has no appeal to either the majority of dub fans, or hardcore fans of the original japanese version(like me). But it is what it is, and if you're not willing to fix it yourself, than your SOL. Sorry.

Oh, and before I forget, I picked the Dragonball Dragonboxes. Have only seen the first 30 or so episodes of Dragonball, as well as the last 3 or so of the Goku vs Ma Junor fight, so I'm certainly hoping they'll release dragonball first. Along with the fact I fucking hate GT, so that should be the last dragonbox item they bother releasing--not that I would buy it either way.

As I said and Pokewhiz said. I'm glad with this(maybe) release there will be no one complaining about the English soundtrack not being there! because Funimation never made their own broadcast music. and I'm not bashing bruce faulconer, Because I like the English music and Dub. but just hearing the Intro for Dragonball just floods back memory's of me buying bootlegs in the downtown area. even though I've never seen all of the Original Dragonball. I did watch it before I did Z. now enjoy :P

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I always liked to explore the darker side of Japanese animation. I hate the way Anime is today, it looks weird and I don't know I just prefer old school stuff :P The trailer I posted above I used to tell my mom hey look another Dragonball movie and she would buy it for me  What? I was kid :P

No clue to be honest.

They look cheap, I'm not sure it'd add much.

So far 9 of my friends have completed the survey. All voted for the Dragon Ball Dragon Box.

I also did a tally from this thread:

Dragon Ball: 34
Dragon Ball Movies: 13
Dragon Ball GT: 1

Poor GT. So unloved.

Oh geez, I didn't realize it until now, but I forgot to say which one I voted for.

I voted for Dragon Ball.

@Craddle: Make that 35 counts for DB.

Man, I hope the big box art gets used somewhere. I'm not a fan of the inner cases, the yellow color scheme just isn't as classy as the reds. Also, the bootleg sets just used those. Perhaps FUNimation might consider using some of the Japanese singles art if they were to split up Dragon Ball?
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Craddle, as I've said to you (and other staff members have made it doubly and triple clear) we deal with things in public here.

You sending me multiple PMs saying 'Nice Try' and such will only be responded to in public.

And since you brought up the warning I gave you (via one of those PMs), that wasn't for saying (in a PM) that you intended to ignore me (and for another reason that I'll bring up later.) The warning was for sending me a PM about your strange conspiracy ideas that you are being baited (which you were told last time by a staff member to stop. You were given a simple verbal warning and chose to ignore it.

You've been told before not to send PMs of that nature (which is the other reason you got that warning.)

The only reason I didn't ban you is because I'm being nice and generally feel people can move past the issues they have. No one is telling you to like me. But when I tell you something as a staff member, you don't get to ignore it because you don't like me.

Oh, my bad. There were some people that said they forgot which one they voted for. And a few more that just said they voted and didn't say for which.

I wonder which images from the r2 Dragon Ball Dragon Boxes would be the best for spine art?

Hi,

The survey question posted was something along the lines of " which dragonball would you like us to start first"

Doesnt that mean that they will release all of them?

Surveys, surveys, surveys. We know they can get tedious, but they really do help us make some very important decisions. For example, which Dragon Box set would you like to see FUNimation release next?
For several months now, we've been getting a lot of feedback from the fans about future Dragon Box releases. There have been demands for Dragon Box treatments for Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, and the Dragon Ball movies. We've heard you, and we're giving it some thought. So, we'd like to get a little more data from our fans. Which Dragon Box (collector's edition box) release do you think we should start with?
Please take our short survey to tell us what you think.
DISCLAIMER: Now, before anyone starts to go into conniptions, this is not a guarantee that we will be releasing more Dragon Boxes. At this point, we are considering it. But, we need input from all of our fans. So, if you want to see your favorite Dragon Ball saga get the Limited Edition Dragon Box treatment, make sure you take this survey and tell all your friends to take it too. The more responses we get, the better.
If enough people vote for the Dragonball Dragon-Box it will probably get released but there isn't a guarantee for the others

That's a good point that no one has brought up yet. I hope so.

I just added in all the votes that were posted on the other thread.

Here is the current tally:

Dragon Ball: 37
Dragon Ball Movies: 16
Dragon Ball GT: 2

Heh...I don't like that image of Yamucha (from the Japanese Dragon Ball Dragon Box art). At first glance, it looks like he might be performing his Roga Fufu-ken, but after seeing the expression on his face, it looks more like he's grabbing at Bulma's chest (which is very Toriyama-esque, but out of character for young Yamucha).
