Goten Overlooked?

To be honest, I think neither Goten nor Trunks were interesting at all. Maybe that's just because I don't like kids, but I found Trunks to be a spoilt, annoying little brat, a sharp contrast to the humble, polite and more cautious future Trunks (although, obviously, that's because he grew up in an apocalyptic future).

Trunks' being Vegeta's child, a little older than Goten and tad more responsible than Goten, makes me prefer him over Goten.

The whole Majin Boo arc was like a parody not to take it seriously, plus the animation was off. Gotenks turning SSJ3 was kind of pointless, because he was powerless against Boo.

Umm... what? The parody thing is as much a rumour as Goten being made to replace Goku completely, and SS3 Gotenks was more powerful than Boo. Not powerless.

To me it seemed that Trunks was the trouble maker of the two and Goten mostly just followed his lead. I can't think of an instance where you could have called him responsible.

I think Trunks being Vegeta's child is irrelevant, although you could make the argument that this made him more original than Goten, who was basically a poor man's Gokuu.

And no, Trunks is not responsible at all, let alone moreso than Goten, considering that he was just a spoilt and mischevious troublemaker who knocked someone out and coerced Gohan into stealing their costume so they could rulebreakingly participate in the adults' tournament, and later, when they entered into the RoSaT, he complained about food or some shit like that, while Goten, presumably angered over his mother's death, had already began training. Just because he's older (by one year) doesn't make him more mature or responsible.

Like I said, Goten's just an extension of Trunks' character and he just follows his lead. It was almost as if they had a little brother-big brother relationship.

Well, I don't need to tell you why Goten is my favourite character. If it's not obvious you are clearly mental. But yeah, he was quite one-dimensional, like Goku but just a little worse. Except Goten might be able to count.
Trunks? Meh. Still don't like his chibi current timeline self. Really like his future timeline character particularly when he defeats Frieza, but not current timeline trunks.

I only enjoyed Trunks and Goten for comic relief.

Gotenks was a great way to make them useful and I found him to be a pretty funny character at first but it got old after he became a SS3 and constantly kept fooling around. Looking back it doesn't make a whole lot of sense for them to have had all that build up to the fusion and do absolutely nothing with it. Whenever I re-watch the series I always skip the fusion saga since I find it pointless and boring.

Nope. Goten is voiced by Kara Edwards and Trunks is voiced by Laura Bailey.
