Is Nail actually the only warrior on planet Namek?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Is Nail actually the only warrior on planet Namek?

Daizenshuu 4 presents us an organization of the Namekian race.

Kanzentai wrote:The seven elders protect the dragonballs and their villages.
The Namekians make offerings to their gigantic dragonballs as if they were protective gods. The elders, beginning with the Eldest, serve the role of protectors and defend against their misuse from outside invaders. Apart from the elder, in each village there are several warrior-type Namekians to serve as bodyguards. The chart is of the relationships between them as well as Kami, who came to Earth 300~400 years ago, and Daimao.
According to Daizenshuu there are couple of warriors in every namekian village. It will make sense if we think about those 3 Namekians with PL of 3,000 who were taken down by Dodoria. They obviously seem to be a warrior-type.

Let's move to Nail case, then. I've noticed the manga sentences, according to which, Nail appears to be the only warrior-type Namekian on the planet.
Strength Checker wrote:Chapter: 264 (DBZ 70), P13.5
Context: Kuririn met Nail. The quote is in his head rather than out loud.
Kuririn: “Compared to the other Namekians, he’s the only one I can sense a whole lot of power from…”
Strength Checker wrote:Chapter: 285 (DBZ 91), P14.2
Context: talking to Freeza
Great Elder: “Nail won’t be as easy to defeat as you imagine…He’s the only Warrior-type Namekian on this planet. Things won’t go as they have with the Namekians you people have killed.
Strength Checker wrote:Chapter: 286 (DBZ 92), P5.1-2
"Hoh! This is incredible! Your battle power has risen to 42,000. I see, you truly do seem to be completely different than all the Namekians up to now. I’m surprised…This is a magnificent battle power! I can see why you’re called a Warrior-type. It’s enough to make me want you for an underling."
Strength Checker wrote:Chapter: 295 (DBZ 101), P1.4, P2.1-5, P3.1
Nail: “Th-that’s right…I was overwhelmingly defeated by Freeza, but I should have a good comprehension of his abilities…[ ] So merge with me…! I’m also the only fighting-type Namekian on this planet…[ ] That’s right…Your power will become many times greater…”
I find, personally, Great Elder's words being the most relevant in this matter. Maybe Nail is some kind of different warrior than the others? Of course he has the greates power level on the planet but possibly there are other differences, too.
Members of Dragon Clan also differ from each other. Not every of them can create dragon balls.
Kanzentai wrote:Dragon Clan Namekians can create dragonballs.
The greatest unique trait of the Dragon Clan is their ability to create objects, and if they reach genius-class they can even create dragonballs. Because Kami who came to Earth and Dende were both prodigies, they could easily create dragonballs and call forth Shenlong.

I always took it as the Great Elder and/or Toriyama just trying to hype up Nail to Freeza, or a fancy way of saying that he was super-strong. "He's the only warrior-type Namekian on this planet" sounds much better than "He's the strongest warrior-type Namekian that's still alive on this planet". Which makes some sort of sense, considering that the young warrior-type* Namekians that were killed by Dodoria were at 3,000, while Nail was at 42,000. That's x14 their strength.

Besides, why wouldn't the Great Elder spawn any warrior-type Namekians in the first place? You know, in case another threat came to threaten their race and planet's natural order and peace? Or perhaps he just didn't have enough power to produce more than one warrior-type, and the Dragon Clan Namekians were of the highest priority, because of their ability to create DBs.

It's also worth noting that the Daizenshuu came after the manga, so they may've introduced the thing about the young Namekians killed by Dodoria as warrior-type, when they weren't explicitly stated as such in the manga. Not that I'm necessarily saying that either one is wrong, though.

*(Probably; the Daizenshuu has some kind of contradictory business with this, where they list them as being "warrior-type", but in another, they're just "young Namekians" or not referred to as "warrior-type" at all.)

Maybe Nail wasn't the only Namekian warrior, but he was the only one that mattered. A battle power of 42,000 is no easy feat. Not even saiyans get that high. We'll, besides Goku and company.

Maybe he's the only one with any experience in real battle...? Or perhaps there was some training that he has undergone which the others have not...

I considered this, but Great Elder's words convinced me to think that Nail could be the only warrior-type of all Namekians.

I see it this way: "Freeza, compared to the other Namekians you've killed, Nail will not be an easy opponent, because he's a Warrior-type"

It seems to me that the Daizenshuu is very clear about that.

Type
There are the Dragon Clan and warrior-type.

There are two types that exist: the Dragon Clan, who are the basic variety of Namekian, and the warrior-types, birthed by the Eldest to protect each village. Dragon Clan Namekians have the ability to create objects, while warrior-type Namekians are endowed with battle potential of instantaneous force; both live a life of mutual cooperation.

Dragon Clan Namekians have an intellectual air to them.

But in the manga, doesn't Muri explain that the Nameks who aren't there were out working in the fields? That's those three that rush in, I think. Doesn't it seem a little odd that a "warrior-type" would be out working in the fields?

Possibly but as far as I know we're not given any information on how that part of Namekian society works.

Presumably though all Namekians who aren't children or elderly would go work in the fields though seeing as how there's so few Namekians left overall (the "mutual co-operation" the daizenshuu mentions)

And then in the rare cases the village needs defending then the warrior-types are called in to help.

Is it ever explained by the way about how the child of Kattasu was both types? Or was that just cause of the split into Kami (dragon-type) and Piccolo (warrior-type)???

I think those guys are indeed "Warrior-types' but they're not in the Warrior Status. In order for that, they have their potential unlocked by Saichoro. That way, Nail really is the only one.

The child of Katatz was dragon-type, but he still underwent martial arts on Earth. When they split, they were still both dragon-type, but then Daimaou birthed Ma Junior, who was a warrior-type, but still retained some dragon-type abilities (like materializing objects) from his father.

Presumably, the reason why Piccolo, a warrior-type, and God, a dragon-type, were able to merge is because they were once one. Not to mention that, as I aforementioned, the Daizenshuu came after the manga. If you really want, out-of-universe-wise, you can take it as the Daizenshuu's contradiction, since we have to go with the manga, the primary source, on this one.

The namekians are a peaceful community, what else if left for a "warrior"-type? :|

Yes and No! Yes because Nail is the only real Senshi Type because of his battle strength. The others are more of Senshi Types in training. Think of it as the same as Elite Saiya-jins and low-level Saiya-jins.
