I wonder what Zarbon is up to.

I also wonder how many times Dodoria will die.
I play baseball and work in LA.

I love quite a few of these back stories to the alternative universes. Get to see a surprised Freeza get his ass kicked by someone other than Ssj Goku, first by the entire saiyan race and now by the namekians!

Are they trying to put at least one derpface in each page?

Just look at everyone in the first panel.

I guess Appule's scouter blew up off-panel..

To me it seems like the artist wanted to get Freeza's first transformation over with as soon as possible, as he doesn't get much panel space and that 4th panel just looks silly.

Gast firing that blast is done from an interesting angle, but there's still something funky going on with his right hand.
For me so much stuff compressed into one page like this just doesn't look that good.

Same here. It does seem like Freeza was quick to bust out his next transformation (he doesn't even blow off his armour before he transforms, like in the original manga; here, he just transforms and the armour bursts as a result for that), which is uncharacteristically safe for such an arrogant villain, and all Nail did was kick him in the face. I mean, I like the fact that it seems to cut the crap (what with Nail's no-nonsense attitude by immediately killing Dodoria), but it seems rushed and it's going a bit too fast for my liking.

I mean, I didn't think Freeza would even begin to start personally fighting Nail already (his greatest feat has only been killing Dodoria so far), unless he's just going by Zarbon's statement that he must be stronger than the Ginyuu Special-Squad (who Zarbon himself is much weaker than and, therefore, the only person able to kill Nail would be Freeza).

Also, the quality of the art's going down a bit. In the first panel, they're all derping it out; in the third, Freeza looks somewhat stiff...overall, this page is probably the weakest in what has been a mostly good special so far.

..Yeah I'm better off taking a closer look at the pages panel by panel next time...

1st Panel: Group Derp.

3rd Panel: Seems off maybe because of the panel size, eyes and body shape suffers.

I'm half way expecting Freeza to be dead. Like the next frame shows the rest of him fried or its just his arms left. Be yet another instance of shouldn't of been holding back so much. Then Gast can do the whole race fusion when Cold and Coola show up. Probably not how its happening but would be a little funny.

I'm guessing Nail will realize that he's still not strong enough to win and will retreat to fuse with everybody else.

If Nail+Piccolo was barely equal to 2nd form Freeza, I doubt Nail+Grand Elder is much stronger. He'll have to retreat.

Yeah, especially since Gast will have to face Cell and Buu later on. I think Freeza's just going to throw Gast away or leave him for dead off some cliff somewhere, which allows him time to recuperate and find more Namekians.

In the last panel it looks like Nail and Freeza are practicing dancing, and Nail is desperately trying to lead.

James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Not to mention he may have a theory that the Great Elder has even more power within him than Piccolo, but just can't put it forth because of his ageing and bloated body.
