Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
Do you guys think that FUNI will also re-release their Dragon Box "Z" - I mean, paying $200 for basically 40 episodes is not what I'd consider a sound investment. I'd buy them in a heart beat if they were re-released at regular prices.

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I'm sure there's a lot of people that would buy them at regular price, but I doubt they'll re-release it. If there happens to be future Dragon Box releases be sure to buy them when they come out. I'm sure those that had to pay an arm and a leg for some of the rarer Dragon Boxes now won't make the same mistake of waiting next time.Aoi wrote:Do you guys think that FUNI will also re-release their Dragon Box "Z" - I mean, paying $200 for basically 40 episodes is not what I'd consider a sound investment. Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I wish we had some insight into the results of the poll as it's ongoing. It looks like there's going to be a bit of a dead spot once the Kai releases finish out. If not the Dragon Box or Blu-rays then what comes next, right?

I know It hasn't been long sense this survey but is it over?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Looks like the survey is over, when you click on it, it says, "This survey has already been taken".samuraix123 wrote:I know It hasn't been long sense this survey but is it over?

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
FUNi's the type of company that doesn't release a series / film pack just within one or two boxes, but still, if things were to go as I've figured:
Dragon Box: The Movies (1-17 i.e, DB + DBZ films) - 1 Box
Dragon Box: Dragon Ball GT (64 episodes + TV-Special) - 2 Boxes
Dragon Box: Dragon Ball (153 episodes + specials..?) - 4 Boxes
FUNimation re-released the Double Features on DBZ MP Collections in 4 boxes, so if we're lucky, then it just might be 2 or 3 for the Dragon Box TM.
Save space, don't waste space!

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I think it's much more likely GT would get a single box (since FUNi did it already) and the movies would be split up.

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
Yeah, that's a tough call on DBGT. They've already released it in two boxes before, so anything two-or-more boxes would seem somewhat excessive, I think.TonyTheTiger wrote:I think it's much more likely GT would get a single box (since FUNi did it already) and the movies would be split up.
But 64 episodes on a single set? I don't know that they would swing it that way. Seems far more cost-effective (for FUNimation, that is) to break it up into the two boxes, again.

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
It's possible. I always had assumed that the combined GT box was sort of a litmus test for how much they could consolidate. I can't really think of many other reasons for taking two reasonably priced boxes that were still readily available and just smushing them together. But if it didn't work out to their satisfaction then scaling back to the 30-40ish episode counts per set is certainly reasonable.

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
So can everyone kinda forgive Funimation for canceling the Blu-rays, now that they might be releasing more Dragon-Boxes?
I guess I can

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
As everyone said Dragon Ball would be better on Blu-ray than DVD, one of the reasons is being like scratchless, 2) up to 50GB allowing and 3) beautiful 1080p crisp quality (depending if the company in charge knows what they're doing).
But for replica/originality, bring it on DVD!

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
Since this release is geared towards fans of the Japanese originals, and most of our demographic tends to not care much for GT in general, I think it would be in FUNimation's best interests to release a possible GT Dragon Box in one shot, all 64 episodes. I think it would increase the likelihood of certain people buying it to "complete" their collections.
Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I'd be shocked if they did one box, because I can't imagine them being able to get a decent MSRP out of such a set.G1Ravage wrote:Since this release is geared towards fans of the Japanese originals, and most of our demographic tends to not care much for GT in general, I think it would be in FUNimation's best interests to release a possible GT Dragon Box in one shot, all 64 episodes. Would it have to cost that much more than the combined GT box?

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
The original Dragon Box GT also had all 64 episodes + the TV Special + the Dragon Book. (I'm excluding the Dragon Radar, since that was a bonus gift) That was over 500 dollars. Even if they drop it to half or a quarter of the price, who (outside of us here on this forum) is gonna spend from 100 to 250 dollars on a Dragon Ball GT boxset?TonyTheTiger wrote:Would it have to cost that much more than the combined GT box?
2 Boxes, split up like the Green Bricks, at 50 bucks each. Done.

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I wouldn't count on a GT Dragon Box anyway.... did anyone here actually vote for GT over the others?

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
On this forum, no... As for all the other people who took the survey, who knows. I'd guesstimate that Dragon Ball has the most votes, then the Movies. I can't imagine FUNimation doing a single box for GT or the Movies. Those would probably be released at 2 boxes a piece, while Dragon Ball would have 4 boxes.Kingdom Heartless wrote:I wouldn't count on a GT Dragon Box anyway.... did anyone here actually vote for GT over the others?

Re: Dragon Box FUNimation Survey
I've been using the computers at my college to vote for all three options equally. In fact, I've probably voted for GT slightly more often because I know that everyone else is supporting DB and the films. I want FUNi to know that there's a potential audience for all three of these. I certainly don't want GT in favor of the others, but I want all three options to at least get *some* votes.Kingdom Heartless wrote:I wouldn't count on a GT Dragon Box anyway.... did anyone here actually vote for GT over the others?
Oh, and just so everyone knows, if your computer has multiple internet browsers, you can apparently take the survey once on each. I was able to take it once each on FireFox and IE for all of the computers I've tried.
