Call me old fashioned but I prefear my games to use a gamepad on the consoles.
I don't want to have to dance around my living room like a lunatic when playing a game.
I play them to relax and have fun.
This is a really stupid idea.

It didn't work very well on the Wii with Sparking meteor and it's unlikely to work now.
Kinect is unreliable gimmick in my experiance.
God knows what kind of a car crash 2-player would be like.

I just hope this isn't going to be the long awaited Zenkai Battle Royal port...

I know dbboxkaifan and others are into this stuff so I'm not ragging on anyone who enjoys it this is just my two cents on the matter.

Wow, it took 10 posts until we got a five minutes joke. I'm so proud.
That was already posted. It's more or less confirmed at this stage.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

A long day our at school/work/life/what have you, late at night, just getting home and you want your dbz game fix.....what's the last thing you want to be doing? Flailing around your room trying to play your game. If you're layin in bed or across the couch, youre gonna want that nice controller inyour hand so you can get comfy and play the night away.

If they can make it for a controller-less device surely a controller motion device won't be a prob.

As for me, I really only want to use my body for everything as it's what Kinect does wonderfully, motion controller gaming isn't for me any more.

PS3's regular controller does count as a motion controller, but it does pretty badly (imo), only on Heavenly Swords it played smoothly and on MotorStorm very awkward. :?

True but controller motion sensing is going to become obsolete.

With Kinect I just have to say "Xbox Bing" "Xbox YouTube" "Xbox Pause" "Xbox Play" "Xbox Naomi Kyle" (lol kidding :P) "Xbox Open Tray" "Xbox Close Tray" "Xbox Bing Dragon Ball" "Xbox YouTube Sxephil" or just wave my hands around.

I guess the future HDTVs and consoles will have a Kinect-ish device inside them or individually sold, because for consoles it's not always placed in the most appropriate places.
I wouldn't count on it anytime soon. While the Kinect isn't going anywhere, it's not going to make other motion controllers(or hell, regular controllers) obsolete. As stated on here and or on any gaming forum anywhere; people still want feed back(and buttons!). I'm not saying the Kinect hasn't gotten peoples attention, it has, but I don't think it's enough attention(or at least positive attention) to get other devices to conform. I'm sure in the future(maybe two gaming generations from now) other devices will have the "Game console open tray" but I doubt we'll see it in the PS4, and the WiiU clearly isn't going to have it. With 2/3s of the console generation against it and limited wiggle room(as SuperSayianPrime has stated) in terms of variety in gaming I don't think Kinect style gaming is going to take over.

Anyway, I have no hope for this game and I'm really disappointed. I really hope we hear about a real game sometime soon to go alongside this(no offense Kinect fans).
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I hope this won't be the main DB game of 2012. It been nearly 10 years since Budokai 1 was released and for the 10th anniversary of a long video game run that we get some kinect game that is likely to be shit. I hope it will be like in 2006 where we got two games on the consoles. I personally hope Zenkai Battle Royale will be released on the 360 and PS3 later this year as well.

Don't judge the game by it's name. I have Kinect and it's pretty fun. Wonder how would it work with DBZ, But the game "Power-Up Heroes" is certaintly similar, so it might work out nice.

dbboxkaifan wrote:DonnieZ, you're being too harsh on Spike now, Spike's RB2 was fantastic, the graphic, the gameplay, music (original/replacement), characters' list, Galaxy Mode, it's all better than the previous Spike Raging Blast / Tenkaichi games.

Note: It's my opinion, though, I always felt the previous always needed to be "fixed" or "improved".

Not saying RB2's perfect, but better than all Spike DBZ games to date.

If Spike comes back with Raging Blast 2 gameplay (or even better) for the new Dragon Ball Z Kinect game, it'd be awesome! :D

...... S-s-s-sorry?? Being harsh? I'm being quite kind, Spike are a pile of trash, a failure. And their biggest failing today in my book is RB2! It probably is UT, but I personally hate RB2, I've never been so dissapointed with a DBZ game.

Firstly. The gameplay was so boring and braindead; you do a smash attack, follow up to the left, to the right, bring it back now yo', one hop this time, Pinballl!- Cha cha real smooth.... It's like they had the song in mind whilst making the system....

Anyway, there really wasn't much to the gameplay, long combos do not make a good fighting game. I prefer RB1's, though the game I found was only satisfactory, it had me satisfied and expecting great improvements on the system. Instead though they added boring and lazy combos to each character, and a pinball. Tell me, what's innovative about hitting characters in different directions? (Oh and, I dislike the defense greatly.)

So there's the awful combat, then there's the terrible theme of the game. Every time I started up, I would feel the same emptiness and sheer boredom from the menu screen. The track playing was boring, and the layout was nothing inspiring or new.

Eventhough I don't mind not having a story mode, the way they handled it was just, meh. I hope they did it like so as they hadn't enough time to make a decent mode, because if they did it that way as they hadn't any ideas of how to make a good main mode which isn't story, then I'm really unimpressed. The only thing urging me to complete Galaxy Mode was to get all characters, but it was really tough. Tough not in the sense the game was difficult, but tough in the fact that I could have drowned in boredom if I played it too long. I was expecting a mode similar to Budokai 2 per-say, but dissapointment is dissapointment. I'm not a fan of the soundtrack at all either, hated it in fact.

So basically, I felt so bored and lonely playing RB2, and at a moment found I was forcing myself to play the game. Once I realised that, I quit. In another thread I saw you wrote you wouldn't really call yourself a fan of Spike, but I think anyone who likes RB2 is definitely a fan. It's funny, everything you said you love about RB2, I hate. The gameplay, the graphics, the soundtrack, and the Galaxy mode.

This could either be somewhat decent (by that meaning the motion detection controls actually work very well and the game is really fun to play), or it'll be complete crap (as in nothing works and becomes frustrating to play). We'll see....

Kind of interested in the almost-20-minute "special movie" that'll be on there, but that's about it. My own wishful thinking is that it'll at least be something brand new instead of just reanimating stuff that already exists, but I'll probably give it a watch either way.

I'm hoping its something new too, I always enjoy new material. I would be a little disappointed if its just Episode of Bardock, but then I guess including it on the game would be a simple way for me to own it (akin to PtEtSS).

I'd be kind of pissed if the only way for me to own EoB (subbed, so I can tell what's happening :P) was on the Kinect game, as I don't have an Xbox.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

The run-time is the same as the new Bardock OVA, that's most likely what it is.

More then likely it's going to be the Episode of Bardock; especially when you take into account that joint DVD release of Episode of Bardock and Plan to Eradicate the Super Sayians. It all adds ups when you think about it.

I would like it if Toei made up a new series. Not a short ova once in a while. And if it had the look of DBZ around the Buu ark, not One Piece.

New series, yes, not some remake of the past series.

DBZ EoB sucked (imo) but pretty sure Toei can do something much better.

Personally I hope this shows that we'll get a cheapy-cheap Kinect game for the 360 and then a Zenkai port for the PS3. That's twice the money Namco get from most fans already
