Dragon Ball Z Gaiden

Doesn't anybody want FUNimation to release the footage from the Playdia Dragon Ball Z games? They could just release it as another special like the Bardock and Trunks ones.

If they were to release it, then umm... stuff. They'd have to market it as a special, or a movie, or something, and then people will still get the misconceived idea that it's an OAV. That, and it's just really not that good, but it'd be nice to se it come out.

Chances are slimish though :/

Well, it's not going to happen. But I'll just say that if they did, and they had to market it as an OAV, it wouldn't be the worst thing they've ever done.

Really? I figured it would make him look more like some kind of Super guy person who knows the truth behind the truth and stuff. Maybe I was too optimistic with that idea.

Yeah, I don't know.

Sorry for not feeling your pain, EX. Assuming it's as horrible as JerseAmymilk claims.

Strange, I was going to ask that very question myself...Everyone seems to beat me at it x.X;

My answer as to whether I would buy it...is yes yes yes YES!

I REALLY want to see this 'movie', just because of how obscure it is. Their's still a chance that Funimation will get to dub it, even if it is a slim chance. After all didn't the Giaden movie come included in the Dragon Box 2?

Ya but when it comes to giving the rights to certain parts of their property, Toei are real stingy jerks. :x

Its just Videogame footage, whats the point? The fights are mediocre and the animation quality is poor. Do I really have to go into the BGM? Sure its "somewhat" interesting, and I emphisize on somewhat. But honestly, a stateside release? I really dont see that happening.

The music is so awful. OMG AWFUL kinda quality.

I don't see it happening for a variety of reasons. For one thing, I can only imagine that it would be a licensing nightmare. I mean, it's not like it's just a special episode... it's from a darn video game. You've got (no-doubt) a special team of animators that did it specifically for the game, all of the legal mess that goes along with it being the property of a video game company...

FUNimation already has to go with all the movies on a case-by-case basis due to the way the Japanese licensing / haggling system works. This would probably just be way too much work for them to invest, for such a little payoff.

Then again, they'll probably by dying to release some ACTUAL DBZ property once the movies are done, since no-one cares (in terms of purchasing power) about DB or DBGT :P

I could only see FUNi selling this a year after every DB/Z/GT related movies+eps+specials were out in order to continue milking the Dragonball Cash-Cow. But even then it'd probably sell for $100 in order to cover all the copyright shit they'd owe to everybody who made the game.

Yes, I have a feeling that FUNi will be cashing in off DBZ for many years to come...at the rate their releasing the DBZ movies, I might have them all by 2010. :roll:

Despite how poor the film/sound/story of Gaiden may be, I still want to see it...After all, it does have Slug/Coola/Tullece/Freeza all in one. How many of the movies have that?
