Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
Well from a moral standpoint I don't think that'd fit in too well with the story... or work since bullets barley affected him in the start of the story.

Bulma made it self-destruct.Goten Forever wrote:What about Nappa's ship?
Bulma never made more scouters. She modified Raditz', and then Goku made it explode. And surely if he's made a ship before he'll have noted down technology to develop and make another? I mean, Bulma learnt how to make Scouters.

Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
I read though this and agree with this very much so and glad this topic came up. I never got why Trunks never took a ship to new Namek and revived everyone back and why he wouldn't have been contacted by Goku(he didn't know him I guess) but at least by Gohan. King Kai not interfering, because it didn't affect the galaxy/multiple galaxies is a very good point. Freeza had a ship and coordinates to multiple planets with intent to universal domination. The Androids were bad...but they just liked messing with their one planet and the people on it. They thought it was a game. Plenty of planets in Dragon Ball have been ruled by evil people/races and the Kais never did anything about it (or at least not noted).Piccolo Daimao wrote:That would mean Kaiou-sama would be interfering in natural order and whatnot. I mean, yeah, he did it in the Freeza arc, but perhaps that was because Gokuu was his student and/or if they angered Freeza, that could have dangerous repercussions on numerous galaxies, and then the blame could be put on him for not doing something about it or encouraging them inadvertently or something.Goten Forever wrote:They don't know where new Namek is? Surely they could have found out through Kaio-sama?
Besides, as I said, Gokuu would probably take the same mentality he did in the Cell arc.
Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
I just realized that they still had 1 more space pod from when Goku was coming back from Yardrat.
Could of used that unless Bulma scrapped it for parts.
And then there's Frieza's Spaceship which would have come in handy had it not been destroyed.

Since they no longer needed it to go into outer space, it was probably taken by scientists and inspected, like Nappa's spacepod before Bulma blew it up with her remote (which Gokuu presumably had none for his ship, since he mentioned quickly getting in and pressing the button before Namek exploded).Gonstead wrote:I just realized that they still had 1 more space pod from when Goku was coming back from Yardrat.

If it was taken and inspected, the technology could have been recreated, therefore SPACESHIP.

What do you mean? It would be with normal scientists, not Bulma. Unless the technology was too complicated for them to work it out, so luckily they sent it to Capsule Corp. for inspection.Goten Forever wrote:If it was takn and inspected the technology could have been recreated, thereforE SPACESHIP
But again, they don't know where New Namek is, nor is Gokuu or Kaiou going to tell them because Gokuu would have no desire to be revived and Kaiou can't intervene in natural order or whatever.

What I'm saying is, the spaceship technology is READY for them to use. Bulma would know about it - she always does.
And wasn't she there when it landed? She could have been first to grab it - with a crane mind - and take it apart.
Don't tell me they have the technology to make time machines with coordinates and be unable to use the radar system on the Saiyan ship.

OK, I understand now. Yeah, I suppose that's plausible. Perhaps it was destroyed in this timeline, in the midst of Gokuu's fight with Freeza or something?Goten Forever wrote:What I'm saying is, the spaceship technology is READY for them to use. Bulma would know about it - she always does.

Perhaps.
I'm surprised nobody had thought of Mirai Trunks going to Namek or some other planet, though. You'd think Toei or some spin-off author would hav done something?

Even if they did, the dragon would revive him with the disease still in him. Like Saichouro was still ailing and dying although the dragon revived him.Wonder why nobody put a machine gun to his head.

"Saichouro" is the original Japanese name for the Namekian "Guru" or "Grand Elder" during the Freeza saga.Goten Forever wrote:Is Saichouro a Dragonball character? Never heard of him.
Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
I don't think it's exactly the same thing. The Namekian Elder was dying because he was already at the end of his life span. He'd only died of grief a short time before reaching that, so he got to return for the time he would have had left. Goku, on the other hand, would probably only have the heart disease upon being brought back to life if the disease had remained active in his dead body up until the revival. We don't know enough about the disease to say if this would be the case or not, and there are probably quite a few ways around it.SylentEcho wrote:Even if they did, the dragon would revive him with the disease still in him. A disease counts as natural death? I don't know.
But Shenlong should be able to cure the virus, I don't see why not.

Nope. Goku teleported from the pod to Earth, remember? The pod may've never even landed on Earth in Trunks' timeline.Goten Forever wrote:And wasn't she there when it landed?

It would've eventually landed on Earth, though. Unless we're assuming that Gokuu, who knows practically nothing about spaceships other than "push the button", manually stopped it before he teleported.Rocketman wrote:Nope. Nah, it should have landed, but empty. Otherwise, Trunks wouldn't know exactly when the pod should land.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Yeah. Or where.
Well, a heart virus is something 'attacking' the body, just as a ki blast is.
Guru's body didn't die of infection, it just deteriorated by itself. You can cure a heart virus but not old age.

Re: Can characters be revived more than once by Porunga?
Either way, Gokuu had already died once before, therefore couldn't be revived by the Earth DBs, and, like in the Cell arc, probably didn't want to be revived anyway.
