I was saying that because some people here were saying they were flat-out cancelled or discontinued like the "Ultimate Uncut Edition" singles. I was thinking from the press release that FUNimation was basically trying to say "We're unsure if they are cancelled and maybe we'll continue them one day, but as as of now, we can't continue releasing the Blu-rays."VegettoEX wrote:Yes, they are indeed. This has been discussed a few times prior in this thread, but the reason Funimation can't just use the Dragon Box master for their Blu-Ray release is because they almost certainly do not have access to the film itself, just a digital copy of the master recording which has already been scanned at 480p. I suppose its conceivable they could color correct that footage, but then it wouldn't be true to the spirit and intention of a "Dragon Box." In addition, they'd still be stuck at 480p, which would negate the main release for a BD release in the first place.coola wrote:It makes me wonder, why they didn`t just use Dragon Box masters? Never bothered with getting more than the two seasons but if they don't come out with a blu-ray release I'm going to have to eventually buy the orange bricks just to rip the Funimation bgm on my computer to have my own "ultimate release". There is a very strong chance they will continue the blu-rays with a different remastering right? Since i really don't want to buy all the orange bricks just for their audio.
I think they wanted people to have hope in them continuing to work on them, so they didn't say canceled right away.(until they released it on their site that they were canceled) but they did say they were looking to find a different way of remastering the series which pretty much means. So when they hopefully eventually come out with the blu-rays again do you think they will restart from the beginning? The more important question I had is do you think they will come out in the same type of packs as the level sets did? So that if someone already bought 1.1 and 1.2 they can not buy the first pack of the new blu-rays and start off from where they left off? Or will there be overlap?
