Curious as to what Mr. Toriyama says in his little goodbye paragraph.

Thanks!

Hey, does anyone have a manga scan of Tambourine killing Krillin if it is there?

It isn't shown in the manga. Goku just runs in and finds Kuririn already dead.

Also, that isn't really a translation request. But oh well.

This really isn't a big deal, but it's just a something I'd like to know. I couldn't find a Japanese scan of the page to post.

When Goku arrives from Yardrat and thanks Trunks for defeating Freeza, does he also mention Cold or the presence of another strong guy in the original version? I know in the English version he thanks Trunks for defeating Freeza and his men. Was just wondering if he actually addressed the other powerful guy instead of Freeza's men in the original.

Do these translation requests include other works of Akira Toriyama?

One-shots that he made can never be found in mangafox or mangareader or any other mainstream online manga viewers. Even Googling for it would usually end up with a dead end.

But I have searched far and wide looking for these. Unfortunately, they're not in Japanese.

No, sorry -- the goal here isn't to be a scanlation center, but to simply fact-check and brings new tidbits of information to light for reference and research purposes.

You mind if I post a thread about Akira Toriyama's other works in the General Franchisee forum?

I compiled all the images I could find about his other works. I'm actually still missing Alien X Peke and some others. But most of it, I have already found. You won't find these on mangafox or mangareader. I was actually hoping that someone owns AT's manga theatre editions here.

VegettoEX, would it be alright if I separate my posts in my "Akira Toriyama's Other Works" thread?

Like, one thread per manga title? Unless if it's very short, like 5 pages or so.

Because the next one I'm planning to post, Pola & Roid, is 45 pages, I think.

And every other manga would be usually 15 pages each. I've only posted 5 (I think?) mangas so far. Since there's no Spoiler tag allowed, it will be a very looooooooong post. Spanning OVER 9000 images!! Just kidding, it'll probably be about 200+ images.

I'm not doing it for the post count, lol. It just seems like, a single thread would need to load 60MB once I'm done putting all those images.

So, would it be alright?

My bad, for the double post again. XD

Yeah, I think it went past the bandwidth. Crap. I hope it gets renewed. Or else those 2 images are going to be lost forever. XD

I knew I should've saved them and re-uploaded them myself. But I was lazzyyy. Uggh!

Those 2 pages was some special cross-over thing. About some Ryo cop guy giving Frieza a ticket for parking illegally on Planet Namek. Ryo was firing a bazooka at Appule. lol

I don't think they went past their bandwidth. The site just didn't allow direct linking.

Edit: For instance, here's the first picture, which I just went back and got.

Image

I never looked at the second one, and you removed them, so I can't now.

Well, the closest one I thought of after seeing that was Appule (and his race). Could just be an ordinary henchman.... seeing as he's scared of an RPG (or in layman's terms, the bazooka). That's just what it seems like. I can't read the dialogue so..

What are these? Where they drawn by Toriyama?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
