What would you do?
This is an idea I've had in my head for awhile, so it's come to my attention that I should finally make this post. The point of this thread is to put each other in situations from the Dragon Ball story (DB-DBZ-DBGT-Movies-Specials), but with a bit of a catch. Each situation asked must be answered from what each person would do as themselves either in place of a character or themselves with similar irrelevant abilities. Every answer has to be thought up based on the idea that thereupon being placed in the situation, they have no recollection of what's going to happen in the story next, meaning each answer has to be created under the basis that they're unaware of how the story is going to unfold in the future and ultimately have to assess their next move(s) based upon their own reflective attitudes based on the events at the time from the situation(s).
So for example, let's say Person A decides to ask everyone what they'd do if they were Piccolo (or themselves with irrelevant abilities), and how they'd go about training Gohan. People may not answer with knowledge of anything passed Piccolo deciding to train Gohan, thus making the answer all the more unique. Another example, Person X asks everyone what they'd do in place of Vegeta on Namek from start to finish. The answers must not be thought of through the means of just altering what Vegeta would do, because that's what he'd do, not everyone else. The responses should be based on what they'd do if they were either Vegeta with their own personality inside of him (like a body swap almost) or replacing Vegeta's character as yourself, but with irrelevant differences towards the story.
So basically it's the same as saying everything happened in the story exactly the same until a situation's proposed. Vegeta's actual personality/actions from the Saiyan arc in the example above would be the same, since we're only talking about Namek. Aside from the basic way of comprising a question and answering, you may also create a unique situation differing from the story. An example of this would be, Person 1010101010101 asks everyone what they'd do if they were Goku at the Cell Game(s), but also adhering to the altered variable of Goku somehow obtaining SSJ2 in RoSaT. The same rules carry over from before, the only difference being altering a variable or two to spice up the situation(s) (which in turn can create millions of possible situations).
Also, this thread isn't about arguing whether or not a situation is plausible. You may discuss and or debate people's responses to the situation for whatever reason, so long as it's logical. I don't really see how you'd be able to tell another person what they'd do in that situation, especially seeing that you're not answering what Goku would do, you're answering what you'd do in Goku's shoes (or whatever character is being brought up). I'll kick things off with the first scenario below:
What would you do as Vegeta during the Garlic Jr. filler arc? Remember that this isn't Vegeta we're talking about, it's you, so what would you go about doing? Would you stick around on Earth? If so, how would you deal with Garlic Jr. and his men, do you think you'd fall under his control? If not, would you go into space? What would you do in space (assume you can create a protective aura to breathe)? How would you handle the various lifeforms on other planets? How long do you think you'd be in space for?
Note: As in all scenarios, assume you know how to use all of the character's abilities up until that point in the story, unless dictated otherwise.

I wouldn't do anything because it's filler, and being filler it wouldn't matter what I did or no.

That's not the point of the thread, not even close, nor does it matter if it's "filler".

Re: What would you do?
Okay, well, what would I do if I was Vegeta in that situation? Not risk my life going out into the vastness of space like that, for one, because it was only through filler that he survived in the first place. Secondly, even if I did go out in space, if I saw an ominous yellow light appear out of nowhere then vanish, I'd assume it was Goku somehow and leave it at that, thirdly, I wouldn't even leave Earth in the first place, knowing people at home needed my help, and since I'm not Vegeta, I would actually care.

1. Stay on Earth
2. Sneak off with Dragon Radar
3. ???
4. Profit!
Never did understand why Vegeta decides to give up becoming immortal. Not like he has to be evil to become immortal, and actually being immortal would be really helpful to any of the good guys, you know...like...when... people try to destroy the world.

Re: What would you do?
Supposedly Vegeta wanted to be immortal (have a "undying body" in the japanese version) to defeat Freeza.

Re: What would you do?
I would flap and panic and end up dying.
If I didn't flap and panic in reassurance of my strength, I'd slaughter Garlic Jr for hypnotising my wife (and, then, unborn child).
Would I get affected by the mist? Probably not. (Personally, if I was affected by the mist I would daydream so much that a thought as clear as 'KILL EVERYONE' would become lost in my mind.)
Would Vegeta become affected? Well, he is a Saiyan. He was close to becoming a Super Saiyan. He probably wouldn't be.

Now: What would YOU do if you were a SSJ3 Gotenks who was much more powerful than Majin Buu?
Would you kill him off immediately or would you play with him like Gotenks did? Bearing in mind that you know you CAN defeat him in the last minute, and that you don't know how quickly your time will run out.

Re: What would you do?
I wouldn't stick around on Earth, since I have no real connection to anyone on Earth, therefore don't particularly care about them. If it gets destroyed, I can just relocate to another planet, perhaps one under Freeza's control and the inhabitants don't know that Freeza's dead yet. Even if I did sense Garlic Jr.'s ki from space, I wouldn't return because, again, I have no connection to Earth or its inhabitants, so I don't care about them.Perfect wrote:What would you do as Vegeta during the Garlic Jr. filler arc? I'd probably train in space for about a year, sparring with various races. Then I'd return to Earth, ask Dr. Brief to build me a gravity room up to 300G, so it could give me a bit of a headstart towards becoming a Super Saiyan before Gokuu would return to Earth.
Knowing that Boo is an unpredictable regenerator who can turn me into chocolate and had killed my parents, I'd probably torture him for a bit as revenge for killing my parents, then kill him instantly.Goten Forever wrote:Now: What would YOU do if you were a SSJ3 Gotenks who was much more powerful than Majin Buu?

Re: What would you do?
Great thread:)
For Garlic Jr- Well, not my circus, not my monkeys, Space is vast and spacious. At that point he had no one to protect on Earth. Knowing that death of the dynasty is always followed by chaos I'd rather go to take from this as much as I could.
SSJ3 vs Boo. I would repeat wise Bible's phase "Pride goeth before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall". Knowing that future of the universe is on stake I wouldn't take even a slightest risk in favour of my personal feelings (especially that i don't believe in revenge but in rendering powerless permanently asd soon as possible).

Re: What would you do?
If I were Vegeta, I would make my best trying to become a Super Saiya-jin. I wouldn't care much about returning to Earth, since Gohan's rage tantrums and Piccolo's power would be enough.
I would be at risk of becoming a slave of the mist myself, and also I would most likely not know how to stop these "magical creatures".
If now, I returned and they Garlic Jr. had succeeded, I would at least be 50 times stronger, so they couldn't phase me and I could then handle the problem.
If I was SSJ3 Gotenks, I would have instantly killed Buu with all my powers. I would, due to my cautious nature, already know how much time I had left. With a threat that huge, I would destroy him immediately. I would make him crawl and to be immobile so that I could charge a full power attack and destroy him completely.
Now, a new scenario: You are Kuririn. You are in love with #18. You have the deactivating remote control in your hand. Semi-perfect Cell is looking for you. What would you do?
I would have deactivated her. In any case, Cell wouldn't find her, and even if he did, he wouldn't be able to use her generator since it's turned off. Then I would take her away, wake her up at my place and ensue with the romance and given that cyborg the love she never got and wooed her.
Vegeta would have defeated Cell anyways. If not, there was always Trunks to stop Vegeta and Cell.

That's probably what I'd do too, to be honest. Come to think of it, I don't know why Kuririn didn't try that in the first place.Godo wrote:Now, a new scenario: You are Kuririn. Although there's something that might throw a spanner in the works. Cell could track you down, even if you suppressed your ki, by blowing islands up or flying to Kame House, and then threaten to kill you, Roushi (if I still lived at Kame House) and/or the others if you didn't give him the remote. And if you refused, he could just swipe it off you.
So I guess the safest way to ensure that Cell wouldn't reach completion is to deactivate #18 and immediately destroy the remote afterwards, so that she'd remain like that forever. So then I'd take her back to my house and...erm...play with her.
...

...

Whaaaat? Don't look at me like that. It's what any 31-year-old virgin would do.

I didn't know the remote could "re-activate" her afterwords. I thought after he pressed that button she's dead and gone for good, but pressing it again can actually bring her back huh?
Also glad to see that people here know Ssj3 Gotenks was indeed stronger than Super Boo.

Technically it is said that Cell need some components in the body of the Androids, so I don't think the infinite energy generator has anything to do with it.Godo wrote:and even if he did, he wouldn't be able to use her generator since it's turned off.
Anyway the best thing to do would be to deactivate her and destroy her. Later they can bring her back to life if they want to.

Re: What would you do?
Well, Dr. Gero did so. I doubt he'd create a remote that would permanently deactivate his Androids if he couldn't reactivate them afterwards, considering how hell-bent he was on Gokuu's death and world domination.dprez wrote:I didn't know the remote could "re-activate" her afterwords. And yeah, I think SS3 Gotenks was slightly stronger than Super Boo. He was about to kill Boo before he defused. If Boo was merely stalling, he wouldn't have allowed himself to get into such a state.
Oh yeah, I forgot about the possibility of reviving her with the DBs.Fox666 wrote:Anyway the best thing to do would be to deactivate her and destroy her. Later they can bring her back to life if they want to.
Then again, the others might try to stop Kuririn reviving her on the basis that she's too dangerous, as they might be actively engineering innocents' deaths. On the other hand, they may not care, since Gokuu and/or Vegeta could just destroy her after training and it's not their job to police the world. I mean, Gokuu, Vegeta and Tenshinhan were pretty selfish in opposing Bulma's plan, expressing a desire to test their strength against the Androids, so I think it's clear that innocents dying because of their self-centered lack of action wouldn't be a great moral burden on them.

Well, they let Mr. Boo live (at least Goku agreed) since he resisted Pure Boo. #18 resisted Cell to some extent, maybe they would be OK with it.Piccolo Daimao wrote:

And about the deactivation; even if the function wasn't included in the remote, I am sure that you could tinker a little with it and reverse it.
And since #18 wouldn't emit any ki, you could bury or hide her and hope that Cell won't find her.
She and #17 were deactivated after all without dying.

Re: What would you do?
Vegeta: I would certainly not get bored and leave Earth. I can always find something to do, and in this case there's plenty of options: chill out and blend in with Earth society, try to use the Dragon Balls, team up with Lunch and go all Bonnie and Clyde, etc. But Garlic Jr would show up before I got to do much. I don't remember how the mist worked exactly, but I think between Vegeta's strength and my own stubbornness, I could probably avoid getting infected. Then it would be easy to defeat Garlic Jr, and the arc would only be 2 episodes long. And with him out of the way, I could go back to my new adventures on Earth.
Gotenks: I'm not a dumb kid, and I don't like to waste time, so I would just kill him ASAP.
Kuririn: I don't think I could just deactivate someone I loved. I would probably try to rescue her and get away from those islands. But in Kuririn's body, I don't think the power of love would be enough to make a difference, so Cell would probably just kill me and absorb her.

Re: What would you do?
Well, Boo was never evil in the first place, and he definitely wasn't after expelling the dormant evil (which most people have; refer back to the child of Katatz thinking that he was pure enough to become God, only for God to reject him until he purged his evil, which became Daimaou) that formed into Evil Boo. He was an innocent child who was manipulated by Bibbidi and Boo, and immediately gave up killing once Mr. Satan told him that it was bad. And #18 only resisted Cell because she didn't want to get absorbed by him.Godo wrote:Well, they let Mr. Boo live (at least Goku agreed) since he resisted Pure Boo. #18 resisted Cell to some extent, maybe they would be OK with it.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Then again, the others might try to stop Kuririn reviving her on the basis that she's too dangerous, as they might be actively engineering innocents' deaths. Before Cell came into the picture, she and the other Androids were still focused on killing Gokuu. But the Z-Warriors don't seem like the type of guys to hold grudges (they let Vegeta hang around with them and stay at Capsule Corporation, after all), and Gokuu and/or Vegeta could train and defeat her if she stepped out of line.
And yeah, I agree. Even if Cell found her, he wouldn't be able to absorb her if she wasn't activated.

Re: What would you do?
Gotenks scenario:
I'd make a dramatic entrance and administer a hard cold cup of pain to his face (0:01). I'd dodge his hits just to show him I'm superior and then I'd administer some more pain (5:40). Then I'd say some cool phrase and kill him off instantly, like a badass (6:50).
Kuririn scenario:
If I were in love, then I wouldn't deactivate her, but I also wouldn't smash the remote. It seems there isn't a reactivation on the remote, since Bulma created it, and why would she install that feature? Anyhow, I'd probably try to get her out of there, but if Cell came any closer, I'd threaten to have no feelings for her and deactivate her instantly. I dunno, I wouldn't be as hesitant or nervous as he'd be, I'd pretty much rush in the moment I got there.
New scenario:
You're in Nickytown, you've heard about the recent disappearances in Gingertown and suddenly hear screaming from about 1,000 ft away. You start to find clothes on the ground with stab marks. You have no idea what a "Cell" is, so you're thoroughly confused. You see a green monster on top of a building, eating a human with its tail. You somehow manage to escape the vicinity of that particular building. Luckily the monster hasn't noticed you yet, but its only devoured 40% of the town at this point. You're near the center of the city, so you're a few kilometers from being able to escape the vicinity of the actual city. You assume the creature's incredibly fast and can hear very good. What is your plan of action?

Re: What would you do?
Krillin scenario: I'd take one look at Trunks and press that button.
Or, considering my semi-pacifist nature, I would wait until the very last second where she was being absorbed, or after she was absorbed, to deactivate her.
Come to think of it, why didn't they make another remote after she was absorbed? She has a BOMB in her doesn't she? Which explodes?
Imagine Cell exploding internally.
Villager scenario: Find a firearm. Lock'n'load. Flee with as many people as possible.
