Hmmm, this is starting to look like another dub-bashing thread.

It is isn't it :( I actually love the English dub, don't get me wrong.

I think maybe we should weigh it out with the best English dub dialouge?

GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

What was the point with "cornbread" he clearly said "I AM PERFEEECT!". Must be another US DBZ meme. :?

Hated this scene dubbed in English because #1 "over 9000" power level mistake and #2 don't see how it's funny or interesting.

I don't see why these reasons make it bad. It does not matter that they got the number wrong. Lol, everyone repeat after me: It does not matter, power levels make no sense. :) I hate how that's always an argument against this scene. Also, it wasn't meant to be funny or interesting. Now what's funny about this scene to me is that of all Ocean dubbed DBZ, it was this that got the meme status, even though the scene itself isn't funny.

I'll just throw out "I do a lot of push-ups and sits ups, and I drink plenty of juice" just to say I contributed. But I'm not fond of that one since it I don't see how it's a better taunt that the straight intelligence-insulting Vegeta actually did there.

lol this is more funny than the actual video (guess it's just another 9000).

Have you ever seen Kajetokun's "Over 9000!" video? If not, I don't think you understand why it's a meme to begin with (that being because it's based on a video you're unable to see).

I don't remember the original Funi Cell death being that choked up.

Exactly, so why don't we just stop with this bullshit already? It's tiring. Yeah, we get it, the English dub is bad, but people don't have to keep banging on about it.

I mean, just look at this comment:
Shnuki wrote:Whoever wrote these lines should rot in Hell:

Seriously? You think they should "rot in Hell"? They didn't rape or murder anyone, they didn't rob you, they didn't piss on your relative's grave! They changed the dialogue of an anime series for just one dub out of, probably, a hundred of other dubs out there. And you're losing your shit over something as petty and insignificant as this?

Constant dub/sub-bashing threads and immature comments like this are what make me feel despair and sometimes embarrassment for this divide between the DB fandom. Honestly, I think the "subbies" are just as bad as the "dubbies".

Um... Why do you think that I would literally want someone to rot in Hell because of some dumb lines in an English dub? Do you always take everything so seriously? If that offended you or something, then I apologize.

I see plenty of dub-loving fans pointing out examples of cringe-worthy dialogue in the show they like.

Please feel free to start up a "Terrible Dialogue in the Manga" thread if you'd like.

If you can't have fun with a franchise you love so much, then I don't know why you're in the extended fandom -- not every bit of critical analysis has to be at something's expense fueled by hatred, and it isn't here.

Gohan: 16, you love life. You gave everything up to save it. And you were just an android. I let you die. I can't do that! I won't watch anymore! I feel it slipping! AND I WON'T WATCH THIS ANYMORE!

And yet, I also see plenty of sub-loving fans pointing out examples of cringe-worthy dialogue in a dub that they dislike of a show that they like, and routinely make a case to express, as if anyone hadn't understood after the millionth time.

I know that I can't be the only one who's tired of these constant and redundant threads that exist solely to point and laugh at the dub. I know that I can just not click on this threads, but I think some people seriously need to stop beating a dead horse.

Yeah. It was over-the-top.

That was pretty obvious. I mean, no one here really wants to cause harm to or wish ill on any of the people behind the original scripts.

Although Watson... well, I'm glad he's no longer with the company.

Regardless, the old dub was awful. You can take that as my opinion, but the fact is everyone involved with the production agrees. They know how bad it was. They've all grown tremendously in the last 12 years. It's really unfortunate for a lot of people that one of their favorite shows received such an awful translation. As such, we find enjoyment getting together and point out/making fun of some of the worse spots, as so we can deal with it knowing that there are others who agree.

In short? It helps fans of the original deal with the sub-par treatment the show got.

Of course it was bad. I know that, you know that, everyone knows that. So does everyone always have to keep banging on about it like a broken record? It's done, it's over, we've got the superior DBZ Kai dub now. Get over it.

I think the issue here is that you want other people to move on, when really? It's not your problem. Let people have their fun, vent their frustrations, and deal with it how they want. You say we've got better things to do than bash the old dub? Don't you think YOU have better things to do than continuing to tell us that~?

Yeah, that was pretty damn useless and pointless.

Anyone who's been watching Z / Kai would known why Gohan went SSJ2 furiously.

Stephanie would've been much better if she just screamed than give that speech also. --"

Yeah, I guess that's fair enough and I should've turned the other cheek. Just that, while these people were venting their frustrations, I felt like I had to vent my own.

My absolute favorite line was Piccolo's "I can do this UUUUUUGGGGHHHHH" speech for the sole reason that Piccolo literally proclaims "Whoosh!" when flying off after delivering it. Now, one of two sweet things happened here. Either Chris was dicking around and added that in on a whim or the SUPER sweet possibility is that "whoosh" was written in the script cuz' someone thought it sounded rad as shit.

I LOVE me some season 3...so good in the most ironically ironic kinda way.

Edit
Upon reflection I may just be a DragonHipster.
