BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
Every single time I get to episode 39 and 40 of Z, I always yell, "What the hell is that playing in the background!?" I've never been able to find it, nor do I know if it's been released.
This particular piece of music plays when you have a panoramic view of the kid's spaceship. One instance of when it plays is 1:55:06 of 2:55:26 on vol. 1 of the Dragon Box.
I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me the name of this piece of BGM.

Kenisu's site helps you: http://kenisu.webs.com/
Probably the pieces you are referring to are from the original DB, and sadly most of them are unreleased.

Re: BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
Thank you for the link, but I'm not understanding that guide. Here's what I have:
The Vast Expanse of Space may be what I'm looking for, as the title definitely fits this piece of music.
"5-disc set" means the Daizenshuu set, right?
"d4:8" means daizenshuu (disc) four, track 8, right?
What does "(a), (b), (c)," etc. stand for?
I typed in that name at Youtube and didn't get any results, so I tried to get the romaji by looking up disc four, track 8 of the Daizenshuu set on EX's Music Database, and the name is completely different than the one on kenisu's website. It's like this for every song I try to look up. I must be doing something wrong...

Yes, you are right."5-disc set" means the Daizenshuu set, right?
"d4:8" means daizenshuu (disc) four, track 8, right?
That stands for the order of the piece. For example, (a) means the piece plays first in the track. All of the DB-related soundtrack CD releases except for the stand-alone movie soundtracks (DBZ movie 8, 10, 11) and the Kai ones contain several pieces in each track. What does "(a), (b), (c)," etc. stand for?
Because of each track containing several pieces, he named every piece himself to distinguish it easily. In a nutshell, those names are unofficial. For your information, M-numbers like "M814" are the official names originally given by Kikuchi, the composer as you know, and Miyashita, who placed the BGM.I typed in that name at Youtube and didn't get any results, so I tried to get the romaji by looking up disc four, track 8 of the Daizenshuu set on EX's Music Database, and the name is completely different than the one on kenisu's website. Re: BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
That's definitely not it. I think we've all heard that a thousand times.kei17 wrote:That's this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLEukwGUvZs#t=7m6s
I did not know there was several songs per track. I wish they didn't do that as it would be so much easier to find the pieces I'm looking for. Unfortunately, I'm not able to find the song, so it looks like it was never released. Nonetheless, thank you for the information and help.kei17 wrote:Because of each track containing several pieces, he named every piece himself to distinguish it easily. Re: BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
No I didn't. What I've been doing thus far is searching every M-number in that particular episode and hoping I find it. Unfortunately, I've only been able to find a few and that's only because of that link you gave me. The rest are extremely hard to find since no one appears to list songs with the M-number; I've tried everywhere I can think of.
Re: BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
What do you mean by 'find'? Are you trying to find them on YouTube or something? If that's the case, you should rather buy the CDs.ManyFaces wrote:No I didn't. Re: BGM in Episode 39 & 40 of DBZ
Sorry, I should have stated that I'm looking for them on websites like Youtube.
I would buy the Daizenshuu set, but as you probably know, they're hard to find and pretty expensive. I like the music in DB, but I don't like it that much. I guess I'm just shit out of luck.
