Ah, no, didn't mean that as an attack against you. I just meant in general. Some people are too attached to the dubs, me too (admittedly).

In fact, if you want to quickly create a popular image, simply over saturate the colors and increase the contrast. While you may not achieve a sophisticated image, you will achieve an image that will please a less demanding audience." - Alain Briot

They need to stop respecting the original version so much to the point of disrespecting..?

Well, if worst comes to worst (or best) and Toei decide to make a new DB series involving Gokuu at a time where Nozawa's dead or otherwise unavailable, then there'd be no other choice. I wouldn't let nostalgia, attachments or anything like that cloud your judgement. As a contrast, it's the same way many dub fans reject Nozawa's Gokuu because it's not like Schemmel's (which I know you're against).

Having seldom watched the original and being more familiar with the dub and video games with the English cast, I can't imagine anyone other than Chris Sabat as Vegeta, but I understand that he's not the greatest voice actor for him and accept a genuinely better and more fitting voice actor with open arms.

Uh, no? I never mentioned anything about disrespecting the original cast. Unless you're referencing my comment about not being attached to said cast. What I'm basically saying is that even I should respect them more than I do.

While i would support new cast, i really hope Toei won`t make them sound like previous group, DBZ Season 3 showed, that it never ends well, just use your own style.

This, definitely. It'd be great if they happened to find someone who sounded at least remotely similar to the previous actor when it's time to replace, but they don't need to focus on that so much that it stifles the ating. Even for a consistency freak like me, acting comes over sounding the same throughout a character's lifetime.

Wouldn't it be better for new voice actors to have their own takes on the characters, while still retaining their essence, rather than attempting to be pale imitations of old voice actors? Because it'll never be as good as the real thing, let alone surpassing it. I'd rather have a fresh, new take on Gokuu, but still sounds appropriately innocent and flexible, rather than just a poor man's Nozawa.

Didn't FUNimation's original 1995 dub have this same problem, wherein they tried to imitate the Ocean dub? But it took their later dub(s) and, ultimately, Dragon Ball Z Kai for them to finally come into their own as a decent, standalone dub (although that could've been because FUNimation ended up usurping Ocean in popularity).

I think you misunderstood me somehow, cuz that's exactly what I said, or meant to say - they need to get people who can play the characters well, rather than focusing on getting people who sound just like Nozawa did. If they happen to sound a lot like the original portrayal, that's just icing on the cake.

For example, though different show and this is on the dub side - from what I've heard, Maxey Whitehead plays Alphonse Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood really well, almost as well as Aaron Dismuke did in the original. The fact that she sounds pretty similar to him in some scenes is just a bonus.

Ah, OK, I understand now.

No I would not. Dubs in general are horrible. Japanese is the way to go, though there are rare exceptions were the dub is just as good as the Japanese version.

I meant original Dragon Ball media with a new Japanese cast. Replacing Nozawa, Furukawa, Tanaka, Horikawa, etc.

No. But this is really based more on a personal choice, as I'm kind of done with the anime as a whole. If I ever get round to buying the Dragon Boxes, that'd be cool I guess, but the anime just doesn't do it for me anymore, if I want my fix, I have my manga.
