Of course, in their case they were telling the actual rights holders they were allowed to upload this stuff to the internet, while you'd just be telling some random internet nobody that you had legal rights to this material, so there's a much lower chance of getting into trouble over it... but yes, you can most certainly be "sued over pressing on button on Youtube", which is what you initially claimed you couldn't.
It's a completely different case. First of all, uploaders brought the copyright holders to the court. It won't raise the chances of an uploaders being sued, mostly because a Google Account or IP address is still not reliable.
Secondly, and most important, the "Flag" button is only that, a button. It's not much different from a "vote down" option, and essentially it alerts the Youtube to check the video (I believe the check is based on the amount of users that report a video). You are not going to be sued by fake flagging a video.
And I am not quite sure about the source you posted, since it also mention the infamous "1,337 BitTorrent users sued"
hoax. However I am not interesting in checking for myself.
