Morbid thoughts about the afterlife

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Sat Mar 10, 2012 1:06 pm

I was just wondering about the afterlife and those that are allowed to keep their bodies. Essentially, they're immortal in the afterlife, since they can't "die" unless they kill themselves and then they're apparently gone forever. But, unless you're enlightened like a god such as Kaiou, wouldn't you be bored as hell? That's almost as morbid as the fate of the souls of those killed by demons.

Anything except sticking me in a goddam cemetery. People coming and putting a bunch of flowers on your stomach on Sunday, and all that crap. Who wants flowers when you're dead? Nobody.

I would imagine that those enlightened like a god are detached from things more than others. Although Elder Kai was still perverted.

That's what I said. What about those aren't enlightened? Or are you assuming that everyone, or at least most people that get to keep their bodies in the afterlife are enlightened? Gokuu didn't seem to be, since he turned down the job of God of Earth that God (the child of Katatz) proposed to him, on the basis that even a year there was boring enough for him. And he later asked Kaiou if he got bored on such a small planet.

And "enlightened" isn't the same as "pure". That's why the old Kaioushin is enlightened, but not pure because he was perverted like Roushi (to the point that he only agreed to unleash Gohan's dormant power if he got to have his way with Bulma first, although I doubt that ever happened; it seemed to be pretty much forgotten about after Boo's destruction and the old Kaioushin wouldn't be able to do anything about it, especially with Vegeta around).

Kaiosama mentions sometime in the anime that his antenna are like T.V's so it doesn't get boring and he gets new hobbies like at that time driving.

Didn't Grandpa Gohan say that he had plenty of pretty ladies to harass in the afterlife? I assume there are things to do to keep yourself entertained, or it'd be a pretty bad heaven. Look at how Goku made the use of his time their to peruse his interests; I imagine it would be the same if you were an artist or a writer or anything else.

I suppose doctors would have to find something new to do, though...

Lol true. But do doctors really like sewing people together?

Hmm... Does that mean that when we die there will be Dragonball dragonboxes? :D

^ They could just play trauma center maybe? Imagine any sane doctor would be more than happy to not have to sew anyone or tend to the sickly.

If its something like the adrenaline rush from surgery they miss or being able to care for others, surely theyd find something else in an endless existence....maybe sky diving?
