"Live" Orchestra Performances of DB Music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gi6_X8yhT_4

I just saw these 2 videos on youtube.
I wonder why a symphony orchestra would play dragonball music, does anyone know any information about this show?
What is the VIVO 2011 Instrumental?
What is the name of this symphony orchestra?
Did this show only play dragonball music or animation music?

Re: where this show come from
I'd ask someone like Scott Morgan to weigh in a little more, but to me, they sound like the actual pieces from the scores to the show (DBZ & DBGT, respectively) with a little extra echo added to the background to simulate the concert hall, and some extra snare drum rolls added in where appropriate.
The video obviously doesn't go with the audio -- people are flying their fingers up and down them flutes like it's nobody's business, and the song isn't doing anything nearly that complex.
(Moving this over into the music sub-section.)

Re: where this show come from
Interesting.
Anyway I barely know any spanish, but on wikipedia it says "in vivo" means within the living, so I assume "en vivo" is the spanish way of saying something is live ie. the Dragon Ball Z music was performed LIVE.
But then I searched for Vivo symphony orchestra and I found this finnish orchestra called Vivo, so it could simply be referring to that, though having gone through the concert calendar(bottom of the page) of the website(which covers all finnish orchestras apparently) it seems it wasn't Vivo, who played a novemeber night in New York. It was an orchestra called Avanti! Chamber Orchestra.
But who knows, if it was them? The video doesn't seem to reveal anything about the performers and the connection with the above finnish orchestra is non-existant.
And the video just doesn't seem that legit.

I don't know much about music, can't confirm the videos are real or not. but I feel some part of video and audio match quite wellVegettoEX wrote:I'd ask someone like Scott Morgan to weigh in a little more, but to me, they sound like the actual pieces from the scores to the show (DBZ & DBGT, respectively) with a little extra echo added to the background to simulate the concert hall, and some extra snare drum rolls added in where appropriate.

If it is unreal video, i think this is quite difficult to make. Additional,Dragonball and Orchestra are not relative,I think no people will do this kind of meaningless work?
maybe we try to find the music list of the concert, if we find that there are dragonball music in the music list, i think we can confirm? but i know it is extremely hard to find that....dbgtFO wrote:Interesting.

Re: "Live" Orchestra Performances of DB Music
I don't find the video all that difficult to have made at all -- there are so many clues flying around that it obviously did not originally go together that it's not like the person put an inordinate amount of effort into it.
Whether or not you think it's a waste of time to have created something like that is certainly up to you to decide, but I'll put forth that anyone who's actively discussing it and various other things on such a focused Internet message board might want to think twice about living in a glass house and throwing stones.

Edit: They're fakes as pointed out by others but doesn't remove the enjoyment from listen to.

Holy crap, the audio editing in that first one is terrible. This obviously isn't a real live recording, but I have to wonder... why bother making something like this?

Re: "Live" Orchestra Performances of DB Music
Err, countless signs of it being fake. Like how the first note of the first video has a gigantic pop at the start because someone edited it in, then you hear the pop again because they edited it in again(loop). Then how the instruments you hear don't even match what is on screen, nor do the amount of notes. Sounds like a clarinet at the beginning of the first video...but that's not a clarinet in the beginning. Looks like an English horn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy-reZOqNcc. In the end of the first clip its obviously fake verb (like Mike pointed out) The second video the conductor is all off...and in some ways not off enough. There's an audio distance lag making the orchestra seem behind the conductor in most orchestra videos. Sound takes time to travel. Lol at the tuba you don't hear. The slowed down footage of the snare drum.
on and on. fake
on and on. fake
