When candy Vegetto was beating up Buu
When candy Vegetto was beating up Buu
Why didn't Buu turn him into something else? Maybe something smaller, or just something that couldn't hurt him?
...
What if Buu died and didn't turn Vegetto back to normal? Do you think he'd find a way or remain a candy forever? How/when/why?

It's quite likely that there's nothing Buu could turn Vegetto into that wouldn't hurt him. Vegetto also notes that Buu can't really land a hit on him at candy-size; smaller would be even worse. Better to turn him back to normal; at least then you have more of a target.

I think Boo realized that whatever he did to Vegetto, he'd still retain his power and overwhelm him, so the only other choice was to absorb him.
If Boo died and didn't turn Vegetto back to normal, perhaps the DBs could restore him to normal. I know Shenlong said that he couldn't turn #17 and #18 back into human because their bodies were too complex and whatnot, but I wonder if that was because it was against their will. If so, it should work. If not, then I guess Vegetto, due to Gokuu's optimism, would get used to it. Or, like Dabra's stone spit, the magic in effect would undo itself when Boo died, so Vegetto would instantly revert to normal.

Boo should have turned him into an earthworm or something. I can't imagine Vegetto hurting him that way.

If Vegetto could hurt Boo as a candy ball, I'm sure he'd be able to as an earthworm (which actually is alive) too. Whatever Boo turned him into, Vegetto would still wreck him.SylentEcho wrote:Boo should have turned him into an earthworm or something. I can't imagine Vegetto hurting him that way.

You know, while it's supposed to be a gag scene, I wonder if Vegeto surviving Buu's candy beam was a byproduct of the magic of the Potara partially negating Buu's magic, since Potara earrings do seem to be the Kaioshin's most magically powerful items. If that is the case, then perhaps Potara earrings grant the fused user considerable resistance to magic attacks, perhaps extending beyond Buu (like Dabura's spit, Babidi's possession, or paralysis[though it's kind of a stretch to call that magic]). I'm probably over-thinking things, though, and it's more or less just Vegeto being insanely powerful, but I am curious.

It's an interesting theory, although, like you said, it could just be Vegetto's ridiculous strength. I wonder if Gogeta would be able to withstand Boo's magic? I know that Metamorian fusion's meant to be weaker than Potara fusion, but I've always thought that Gogeta was only slightly weaker than Vegetto and, if it is about strength (or at least, mainly), Gogeta may have the same ability as Vegetto.Deep Thought wrote:You know, while it's supposed to be a gag scene, I wonder if Vegeto surviving Buu's candy beam was a byproduct of the magic of the Potara partially negating Buu's magic, since Potara earrings do seem to be the Kaioshin's most magically powerful items. If Buu turned Vegetto into an atom then Vegetto would create a vacuum by destroying all the other atoms around so he could beat Buu freely without risk of getting lost or becoming Carbon Dioxide.

What if Boo turned him into a cake? Wouldn't he be a little too soft to fight? What about if he was turned ito a milk?
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Guys, seriously, read all the posts in the thread. As Fox666 has already quoted:

Well, it's not like a candy is much different. With Bukujutsu I suppose he can fight even as a liquid.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:What if Boo turned him into a cake? Wouldn't he be a little too soft to fight? What about if he was turned ito a milk?

Milk is made of the same stuff as Candy - lots of molecules. And milk has looser molecules. He could condense himself.
Cake? Same story.

Have Buu turn Vegetto into a fluffy pillow and I'd be laughing as he annihilates Buu.

Lol. Vegetto is just absolute overkill. Super Boo couldn't have done anything to not get hurt.
