Although I'm happy with my collection of DB stuff- I'm still tempted to get Boxes 1-4, just because I love those boxes, the hard cover books, next episode previews and I'd love to see some of the Saiyan-Freeza arcs in Dragon Box formats.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I finally caved in and bought Box 1 from Amazon.ca today. It was about $75 USD, which includes international shipping. Not too bad, I guess. (I'm still kicking myself for not buying these things when they were available for $30-$40, though.)

The only Dragon Box I'm missing now is Box 2. I can't believe how insanely expensive that one is. :(

http://www.ebay.com/ctg/DragonBall-Z-Dr ... VD_Blu_ray
And here's some on Amazon you can check the new and used section
http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Box-T ... 411&sr=8-1
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Probably people just trying to squeeze more money. If you're looking to buy box 7 just buy it from walmart for 29.99

Ya know the FUNimation Dragon Boxes Z were/are a Limited Edition so it'd just be a matter of time before the price would being to increase.

Dragon Box Z Vol. 7 was probably the cheapest I bought from Amazon via Pre-Order, it cost me just $30 (€22). :)
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

That's not necessarily it; Amazon shot Box 7 up to $45 or so the week before Christmas (When I had to order it on my Mom's behalf, no less!) and then dropped it back to $32 around New Years. Might have been a Christmas thing, might have been a sporadic Amazon thing.

Although since it's happening at a later date, it is possible it's supply related this time. But I wouldn't guarantee it.

If you buy an item directly from Amazon, they will price match it-sort of. If you pay 49.99 and they drop it to $31.99 within a certain amount of time, they will refund you the difference if you call customer service. Basically, they price match their own prices. I did this when I ordered box 7 during the holidays.

This only works for buying from Amazon directly, not the third party sellers on Amazon.

Yeah, otherwise the system would get heavily abused. Imagine paying $1,000 for something, only for another seller to list it for $1. You'd pretty much get a free $999.

I'm just letting everyone know that walmart has Dragon-box 3 up for $31.96 which is a-lot better than going to Ebay or Amazon, and paying 80 some bucks.

Seems pretty strange to me that they're out of print in the first place, since they've proven to be popular and rightfully so. Funny thing is a local store near where I live still has a whole lot of them in stock and their price hasn't changed, go figure.

That's just lady luck working in your favor.

The Dragon Boxes were limited anyway, and the Orange Bricks were still beating them in sales, so I find it clear as to why they would have been discontinued so quickly.
So mondo lame.

Actually, Funi never said the Dragon Boxes were limited, they didn't even give hints as to what their availability was. I might be mistaken but I don't remember anything else aside from the announcement after they stopped making them. I've been thinking it might have been because of the Blu-rays they were releasing (which are suspended now) but I'm not sure.

They were pretty clear these were a limited edition run well before they stopped printing them, just not from day one.

I thought the fact that they were advertised as for ''hardcore fans'' meant that they were limited and wouldn't be around for long. I do wonder though, if Funi do decide to release Dragon Boxes for the other series' (DB, DBGT, Movies), will they be advertised in the same way? Or will they extend their run and produce more copies... hmm.

Almost assuredly, in the United States, Dragon ball Z is the show by far with the most recognition, so if the DBZ Dragon Boxes needed to be limited editions, I see no reason why Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, or even The Movies would recieve a larger release.

I completely agree with that.
