Narrowing Down Your Collection

Post by DragonBoxZTheMovies » Fri Mar 23, 2012 3:20 am

So recently I've decided to start narrowing down my collection and cancelling a few of my purchases since I've come to realize some of the stuff I want may be a bit excessive, particularly the Japanese stuff.
The first things I plan on selling are my Perfect File re-prints, as well as the 'Return My Gohan!' Ani-Manga.

Has anyone else considered doing this?

Well, the only Dragon Ball thing I've sold off is my Orange Bricks.

And you're planning to sell some Japanese stuff? Hmmmm, how much would shipping be to Australia? ;)

I never sell anything DB related. :P

Hell, I still keep DBZ notepads, colouring books and other useless DBZ items (which I won at the arcade) lying around my shelves or loft somewhere.

I still have my CCG collection. I never think of narrowing my DBZ collection. I like to expand it. I don't think I'd mind selling my Orange Bricks though.

I too keep all my Dragon Ball Collection, besides that, my DBC isn't even big, it's quite small compared to others.

I've also have a Consoles' Collection which I've regret selling my retro consoles for a PS3 Slim. x_x
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:

I gave my Orange bricks away, along with the double features.

I'm considering narrowing down my collection, since I have the Z Dragonboxes, I don't exactly need every 4:3 Single, and they take up a hell of a lot of room.

My "collection" desperately needs to expand if anything. Volumes 1-42 and the Dragon Boxes are all I have. I would need the original Dragon Ball and GT anime( Dragon Box for these in the future?, I wait and see. If not, bricks are always available.), as well as all 17 movies with the two Z specials, the one GT special, and the OVA to have my complete Dragon Ball viewing collection.

Can someone explain to me what is an "Ani-Manga"?

"Animanga" is a term for a book that takes screen shots from an animated version of something and arranges them in manga-style, complete with word balloons for the dialogue.

It is for this reason that we coined the phrase "redundantly redundant" for the TV Anime Comics (they are a manga based on a TV version based on a manga).

Reminds me of Street Fighter - The Movie - The Game. A game based on a movie based on a game. Only that has a funnier name.

Actually, I think I am the opposite. I think I am done with mine. I have all the Blue Bricks, Dragon Boxes, and Green Bricks. All I need is some Kai stuff, but that is not a priority. I would love a complete DVD run of the Mexican dub, which would make my collection open for expansion rather than narrowing it, but to my knowledge no such thing exists.
So mondo lame.

I did sell most of my edited VHS tapes to Half Price Books a little while back. They were taking up so much room! Otherwise, I plan on keeping my other stuff.

There are certainly things I am highly considering getting rid of in my collection, which include my Season One orange brick, my GT singles, GT Season One green brick, and my duplicate Dead Zone DVD. Z Season One is definitely at the top of my list.

The GT sets and singles I want to replace with the Complete Series set. I do own A Hero's Legacy, but I probably won't get rid of that because it was the first Dragon Ball DVD I got and also because of the DVD case being in somewhat bad shape.

Other than that, I plan on keeping everything else.

I've been selling my orange bricks and replacing them with Kai DVDs. There's no filler, it's a better dub (though still not perfect - dende has sisters?!) and the image quality is far, far better - I never realized what I was missing out on!!!

I've thought about getting rid of the Orange Bricks...but I find a sort of symbolism when I see them next to my Dragon Boxes. Plus I don't mind having the dub score around if I want to watch for nostalgia.
I think I'll be buying assorted Dragon Ball things for the rest of my life.

Considering my lack of interest in watching the anime any more (because of the massive superiority of the manga), I've been thinking of selling my Dragon Boxes, but I'll likely keep my games and art books.

Well I was going to get rid of my Orange Bricks but the Blu-rays got canned so I'll just haft to wait for the next release lol but if Funimation releases the Dragon-boxes for GT and Dragonball then I will get rid of the Green Bricks.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Got rid of every single Funimation release..( except the Dragon Boxes). My japanese is coming along really well so I'm just keeping my original japanese R2's only. By mid summer of next year my japanese will be somewhat fluent, so I'll be able to read and understand MOSTLY what is being said!!!! 
