DB characters as SF characters

Post by SHINOBI-03 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 1:41 pm

Which Dragon Ball characters you think best as Street Fighter characters?

Here's what I could think of:

- Goku = Ryu
- Vegeta = Sagat
- Piccolo = Dhalsim
- Chichi = Chun-Li
- Zarbon = Vega/Balrog
- Dodoria = E. Honda
- Little Boo = Blanka
- Baby or Freeza = M. Bison/Vega
- Nappa = Zangief
- #18 = Cammy
- Tenshinhan = Fei Long
- Yamcha = Ken
- Bora = T. Hawk
- Mr. Satan = Dan

I figured Seth would be more like Cell. Didn't he want the fighters to be absorbed into his databases or something? I may be wrong, I haven't played SS4 in a while.

I think Tom Dubois of "The Boondocks" said it best for me when FUNimation announced the release of the domestic Dragonbox, after buying all of the Season Sets: "MOTHERFUCK!!! SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT, PRICKS, SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIIIIIIIT!"

Don't know if it's just me, but in Super Dragon Ball Z (made by Noritaka Funamizu of Street Fighter fame), the Dragon Ball cast seemed almost like counterparts to the Street Fighter cast:

Piccolo (Jr/Daimaou) - Dhalsim; Piccolo has the same flailing limb moves as Dhalsim.
Majin Vegeta - Gouki/Evil Ryuu; Gouki's victory pose seems awfully similar to Majin Vegeta's fighting stance.
Artificial Human #16 - Zangief (Both have move-sets focusing heavily on throws/grabs)

Cody = Yamcha, just because they're both cocky, yet kind-hearted, martial artists.

Guy = Tenshinhan, because they both take their training very seriously and the parallels between ninja and assassin.

Dan = Mr. Satan, because they're both over-the-top joke characters without any impressive fighting skills.

Chi-Chi - Makoto - strong fighters, with pure dreams (Save dojo for Makoto and family for Chi-chi)
Broly - Gill - Overpowered jerks, that have same numbers of fans and enemies
Garlic Jr. - M.Bison - They can`t die, yet their cockyness prevent them from win

Teen Gohan during Majin Boo's arc?

Anyway, how is Ryu fitting as Gohan? Ryu's too muscular to be Gohan.

It's a joke, because Kyle Hebert voiced Gohan in FUNimation's Z dub, and voiced Ryu in Street Fighter IV's dub. Same goes for his other examples.

tenshinhan as sagat. sagat's retconned story in the alpha series gave him basically the same character arc. also, they're both tall, bald, shirtless dudes with diagonal chest scars, and between them they have a normal amount of eyes.

How come I forgot Mr. Satan?! Silly me!!

Then, I think I'll make Yamcha as Ken in my list.

Kinda unrelated, but look what I've found in the Dr. Slump wiki.
