What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
I search to see if a similar thread was already made and I found nothing? So what if when Roshi use the Mafūba on Piccolo Daimao it didn't missed at the last second and was able seal Piccolo Diamo back into the container? What would the series be like without Piccolo?

They would have been fucked at Raditz.

Goku could have team up with Kuririn to stop Radditz. I think Kuririn could have the power to stop him or Gohan could got angry enough to do some serious damage to him.

Goku (and the others) never would have gotten strong enough to do anything against Raditz.

Maybe they'll bust another Mafuba on Raditz, while Goku holds his tail.
But I really do think if all the Z-fighters ganged up on Raditz, he wouldn't have a chance. It'll be interesting how Gohan would turn up though..

IIRC they state that the others wouldn't be of use against Raditz. And with power levels of 170-250, I believe that easily.Jackal puFF wrote:Maybe they'll bust another Mafuba on Raditz, while Goku holds his tail.![]()

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
As it has been mentioned in this thread, Piccolo Jr. would never have been created thus they would have no way of defeating Raditz once he arrived on Earth. Of cause with Piccolo Jr. missing, Raditz would have no way of knowing the existence of the Dragon Balls thus giving Nappa and Vegeta no reason to visit Earth.
In short: Goku & The Z-Warriors would be slaughtered and the kidnapped Gohan would probably end up being forced to work for Freezer.
Secondly; Cell would probably never come to be since Vegeta and Nappa's fight against the Z-Warriors was instrumental in the creation process, i.e. the gathering of genetic material.
So all in all, Dragon Ball would be a lot shorter.

Goku wouldn't have a had a reason to seek out the Super God Water; making him useless against Raditz. I think I'm remembering that right. Was he already on his way when the Mafuba stuff went down, or still unconcious/not at Karin Tower yet?

Yeah, he actually had already had his encounter with Piccolo at that point, but it wouldn't have made a difference as Karin would have just clued him in.B wrote:Goku wouldn't have a had a reason to seek out the Super God Water; making him useless against Raditz. They'd revive Muten Roushi with the DBs, and then he'd keep the rice cooker containing Daimaou at Kame House. When Raditz comes, Gokuu, Kuririn and Muten Roushi would team up to fight Raditz, like they'd planned before Piccolo intervened and made it clear that they wouldn't have a chance. Raditz would easily thrash all three of them, until Gohan erupts from his pod and headbutts Raditz, who'd subsequently kill him. Then he'd kill the others, return to Vegeta and Nappa, and they'd conquer Earth.

I won't if it would still be possible for Goku to still train with Kami seeing that Goku would be train for the next tournament? Korin could have told Goku about Kami and that he would give him better training.

And Kami only trained Goku to stop Piccolo.

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
Wouldn't Tien's Tri Beam kill Raditz easily? Tien was like 300+ right, power level wise? Raditz was arguably 1,200 to 1,500. The Tri Beam multiplier is insane.
If Goku got a chance to hold Raditz's tail or that full-nelson headlock, Tien could kill both of them. Everything would go as the series except not having Piccolo around.

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
No, it isn't. Tenshinhan at 1830 used the Kikoho against Nappa at 4000 and it did nothing. Also Tenshinhan was 250 at that point, so below 300 rather than over.Angelus wrote:Wouldn't Tien's Tri Beam kill Raditz easily? Tien was like 300+ right, power level wise? It didn't kill Nappa, however.Angelus wrote:The Tri Beam multiplier is insane.
Tenshinhan was at 250 while Raditz had 1,500, six times more. That would be the same as facing an enemy of 11,000 instead of Nappa.

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
Oh... So Tien was 200+. Crap. I thought he was 300+. But anyways..
Tien was already very weak for that Tri Beam. Actually, not very weak... dying... or rather near death. That shot was his last breathe of energy left. It wasn't even really a Tri Beam at full power because he only used one-hand. Same thing as the a one-handed Kamehameha from SSJ2 Gohan to SPC.
Imagine someone using a full power punch at full health. Now imagine the same guy who is dying, injured, bleeding, tired, and giving it his last shot before he dies.
And Nappa blocked it.
It probably would have been different if Tien right off-the-bat just went Tri Beam on Nappa when he arrived... and it hit Nappa.
If I'm wrong... then where the heck did this Tri Beam insane multiplier info come from? Almost every DBZ forum I go to have Tien's Tri Beam with an insane multiplier.

People grossly overestimating him because of the incident with Cell's second form.

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
If I remember correctly, this Tri Beam to Semi-Perfect Cell was just the regular Tri Beam right? Not even the Neo Tri Beam?
Goku said in the anime (FUNi dub) that Tien wasn't doing any damage to Semi-Perfect Cell but Tien's life force was draining very quickly.
It was merely pushing him down, since that's what the Tri Beam does.
So other than that, what's up with the insane Tien multiplier? I always thought it was the case, thus I assumed it would have killed Raditz or Nappa... maybe even Vegeta.

Re: What if Roshi's Mafūba didn't miss?
The Neo Tri Beam (Shin Kikoho) is indeed what he does to knock Cell down... but you're right, it does absolutely no damage. I don't see any reason to give the Kikoho a ridiculous multiplier when not once has it been shown damaging anyone. When he first used it against Goku, he told Goku to dodge it because it would kill him (Goku jumped into the air to dodge it). Goku was roughly the same strength as Tenshinhan at the time, so it's probably only able to kill people around the same level of power.Angelus wrote:If I remember correctly, this Tri Beam to Semi-Perfect Cell was just the regular Tri Beam right?
