Combo Videos For Old DBZ Fighters

Post by Running Wild » Thu Apr 19, 2012 12:00 pm

You know, I have not seen too many combo videos for DragonBall Z fighting games. I mean, sure, there's the Budokai games, which had the Charge Up Attack Cancels, and the Transformation juggles, which allowed some insane stuff, I recall the Tenkaichi games having a number of infinite combos, and the more traditional style Super DBZ had some really hardcore combos going on, but what about the older games from the 16-bit and 32-bit era? I have seen a few clips of some legit combos in Hyper Dimension, and I've been messing around in Ultimate Battle 22, there seems to be some combo potential in this game, but it just hasn't been exploited properly. I've seen some cases where characters can actually be juggled after a basic throw, and some attacks can be stringed together multiple times, and there is some very odd mix-ups in this game. It also got me curious about the Sega Saturn counterpart, Shin Butoden and what that system might allow, but I have no way to play that game to even try.

Would be interesting if these games could be broken open like the Sailor Moon fighter which allows some RIDICULOUS stuff.

I never could get any good combos in UB22 or GT FB. Yeah UB22 had a couple things you could do but I really don't think there was any good combos. It was pretty fun to play with a friend though. More of a mind game kind of fighter. However GTFB is just terrible.

Budokai 1 combo video.

Too recent a game for this thread, but the fact that a decent Budokai 1 combo video exists at all probably merits a mention.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

I used to know how to do a lot of combos in Final Bout or Ultimate Battle 22 but now I'm a noob at it.

I'm more likely to pick up Tenkaichi Tag Team than FB/UB22, it's fun, easy and 2v2. :P
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
