Take him out in his sleep.
If Goku could succumb to a heart virus, they could throw some sleeping pills into Vegeta's food. Then, when he has gulped all his food and went to bed because of feeling sleepy, they could get their revenge. Vegeta's death is imminent.
Who's to say Vegeta wouldn't somehow sense their ki within his sleep, or just wake up in time, and kill them?

Anyway, what good would it really do? They need Vegeta just in case they can't defeat enemies, like Cell and Boo. And, as aforementioned, no-one really gave a shit, at least not enough to actually proceed with a plan like that.

Given how many times he aids the likes of Cell and Boo, I'd say taking him out in his sleep would do them a lot of good.

But then Gokuu doesn't have a rival, and the Z-Warriors all just fall in line behind him, whatever he does. Like Kuririn sparing Vegeta's life because Gokuu begged him so, and said that he earned the right, since he saved the world.

But once again, who's to say it'd actually work? Vegeta could be a light sleeper (maybe he barely sleeps at all due to his training, and/or often sleeps in the gravity training room, which can be locked, and trying to open it by force would wake him and/or other people up), and/or sense ki or even the slightest amount of movement, enough for him to wake up in time and potentially kill them.

Plus, they might not want to leave Trunks without a father, especially if they saw how he could change (as demonstrated by his anger at future Trunks' death and his attempt to get revenge on Cell), and how future Trunks, before he knew what Vegeta was like, regretted not having one, was eager to meet him, and wished for him to survive against the Androids.

Vegeta's the second strongest character in the show. What is anyone besides Goku, who forgives him, supposed to do?

And it's not like Vegeta doesn't attempt to make up for it.

And how would Vegeta's presence hinder that. Just because he "opposes" Goku doesn't mean he has been helpful. You gave Krillin letting Vegeta live at Goku's wish as an example, which one of the things I could actually imagine Vegeta agreeing with Goku, the whole "I want to defeat him on my own" business.

And I never really bought this "everybody blindly follows Goku" bit, because in most cases , just like with Vegeta, they don't have a choice. Piccolo wasn't the only one who didn't like him sending Gohan oput to battle Cell and when Goku gave Cell a Senzu, even Krillin, considered by most his nr.1 fanboy, said he went nuts.

Well, to give an example, the whole thing of Gokuu and Vegeta rejecting Bulma's plan to find and kill Dr. Gero with the DBs, and no-one but Bulma voiced their objections. Only Kuririn mentioned that it'd be good because Vegeta probably wouldn't kill them if they had a common enemy.

Can I just say drugging and killing Vegeta in his sleep would be very dishonourable? All the Earthlings are martial artists and such, I don't see them stooping to such methods.

Bulma could drug him, to begin with. Then she could probably fool Goku to shoot a Kamehameha into Vegeta's bedroom ("Come on Goku, it's so cool, can you show me? I'll give you food!").
Or Yamcha, in either jealousy or by being fooled by Bulma that if he killed Vegeta, he would get her back.
The possibilities are endless.

Bulma wouldn't want him dead and Yamcha doesn't have that much of a problem with him.

It might be because only Bulma (and maybe Yamcha ) was really against waiting for them to strike first. Tenshinhan wanted to fight them too and I'm pretty sure so did Piccolo.

And again, you gave an example where Vegeta's presence does nothing useful, in fact, he sides with Goku on this one too. So his role as "the rival" doesn't earn him any points in this regard.

Well Tien was basically raised as an assassin.. Hmm would have been interesting if Tien were to go back to his roots to take out Vegeta.

He wouldn't. He shuns those ways and found his dignity as a martial artist. To go back to his roots would completely go against all of his character development.

Death doesn't really have any meaning after the Saiyans showed up.
You can just fix everything with the Dragonballs.

So that could be it.

You could also just do that before the Saiyans showed up as well. They treat the deaths of their friends the same in the Saiyan saga as they do in early Dragon Ball.

It seems arguing over pre-Saiyan DB vs. Post-Saiyan DB is unavoidable eh.

It's not just about wishing back main characters. Entire races were wished back into being later on. Every one of Cell's victims were revived. The plot device was such a joke that Piccolo could offer up the entire human race because he knew they would be revived with the Dragonballs.

Death means nothing later on. The DBs were never so abused and detrimental to the atmosphere of the series before the Saiyans.

That's got nothing to do with the deaths of the the warriors in the Saiyan saga. And the mass resurrections didn't happen until Freeza.

Maybe Bulma did drug him.

Maybe that's the real way Trunks was created...

She raped him, while he was conscious. And it was very funny.

That brings the question: is the honor more valuable than innocent's life? Keeping murder well and wild just for the sake of beating him in fair combat? Especially that nobody has to know. If so how holding honor over other's sake proves the good guys to be?

Did he really keep killing innocents that they know of? All I remember is the truck driver.

Aside from the World Tournament, of course. They couldn't kill him then because he beat them to it. 8)

I wouldn't advise them waiting to make sure that he didn't change his attitude towards murdering everything that stands on his way.
