Dragon Ball Kai Vol. 1-97 End Unboxing Vid (Cool Packaging)

Post by dbboxkaifan » Sat Apr 21, 2012 7:06 pm

Noticed a German guy uploaded his unboxing video to YouTube of a Dragon Ball Kai DVD bootleg and the packaging looked really cool, don't know about the video/audio quality but it's certain to feature Yamamoto's soundtrack (except for 96 + 97).

Cool, I guess. I don't think there's much to discuss here. Packaging looks pretty nice.

I do find it funny that the disc art features a Super Saiyan 3 Goku for a release that doesn't cover that story arc

That's a Malaysian bootleg release, which is not welcome here.

Oh my, the box has an attempt at a copyright notice...
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

While it does look nice, I wouldn't want that thing in my possession. It wouldn't feel right.

Yea i got the same thing, the audio is pretty good but the video quality sucks because theres like 25 episodes on a disk plus besides the first and last episode of each disck there are no openings, endings, last episode or next episode previes.

If it's the whole series, I wonder what the image quality is.

Or like this.

For having Yamamoto score in episodes 1-95, they are definitely TVRipps.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Yes, but there's so many episodes a disc, that it would be extremely compressed and likely look like MetalWario's cap.

Oh yeah, didn't though that.

Huh... Judging by the circular sticker on the left-bottom corner of the box I think I have a bootleg from the same guys covering Saint Seiya. Though there are all the openings/endings and previews. But I wouldn't want this even with Yamamoto because of the omitted themes and previews.
So mondo lame.

Bootlegs are stupid. If you're going to illegally obtain the series there are better free alternatives.
I would buy the official DVD's or Blu-Rays though.
