Bulma's word isn't the only evidence we have... in the manga, Trunks mentions to Goku that Yamcha wasn't always faithful when he explained how Bulma wound up having a fling with Vegeta. Sure, that's about future Yamcha, but the present Yamcha is only a year or two away from being in the same situation.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Well, there's always been that 'Yamcha's a player' vibe they bring up, or at least Bulma brings it up a lot, but honestly I'm not too sure how much I buy into it myself.
I mean, the guy goes from being afraid of girls, into a player, and the only real evidence we have of it is the word of a woman that's...less than scrupulous herself? If anything, I'd say she's the one that cheated on him (leading to Trunks), or if Yamcha did cheat first, it was kind of an 'Oh, so this is what you think of me? All right, fine then.' kind of thing that lead to him cheating. If it's the latter case, you almost can't even blame him.
Sorry, didn't mean to go into a character rant, but it's something I've thought for a while now whenever the Yamcha thing comes up.

I really hope that XXI does not killed by a genki dama. I think that would be so unoriginal and lame if XXI was killed by a genki dama.

It is, I know it. Salagir's going to pull a Toei plot on all of us!

Considering the DBM logo right on the site features Vegetto shaking hands with Gogeta, I think there's a very good chance we can guess how this is going to end.

But Trunks more than likely only heard his mom's side of the story. They broke up before Trunks was born, and then Yamcha died while he was still a baby.Saiga wrote:Bulma's word isn't the only evidence we have... in the manga, Trunks mentions to Goku that Yamcha wasn't always faithful when he explained how Bulma wound up having a fling with Vegeta. Eh, I still believe it. I don't think Toriyama would put it in the manga coming from Trunks if it wasn't true.TripleRach wrote:But Trunks more than likely only heard his mom's side of the story. Maybe they won't allow them to kill fighters who are still in the tournament, no matter the universe they are from, because that would interfere with the tournament itself.TonyTheTiger wrote:That doesn't make sense because not every member of a universe needs to be allies. Otherwise Bojack could kill all the fanservice girls or Raichi could kill Bardock (or vice versa) and they'd get away with it. And since same-universe matchups are allowed, killing somebody from your own universe outside a match is no different than killing anybody else. I think this is just another example of the organizers having completely lost control over their own tournament.rereboy wrote:I don't think so. I believe that what Freeza said is right. He can't be disqualified for killing someone from his own universe. The rule must only apply to inter-universe relations.Rukura wrote:Didn't we just see Freeza get disqualified?
However, if they aren't part of the tournament anymore because they already lost or they were never in the tournament, they won't forbid them from doing whatever they want to members of the same universe because basically there is nothing stopping them from doing it once they get back to their universes.
Basically, its not their job to police the individual universes. Their job is to police the tournament itself and inter-universe relations since they only exist thanks to them.
Of course, I don't know if they even thought of this before Freeza killed Burter, but maybe its what they decided when faced with this situation.

I had completely forgotten about that exchange, and I want to say it's in the anime too, but I'm personally having to side with TripleRach's take on it. He's just going off of what his mom told him about the situation.Saiga wrote:Eh, I still believe it. I mean, it's two different situations, but if I recall she kind of sugarcoated her explanation on Vegeta to him anyway - hid what an ass he really was at the time from her son - so there's no reason to me to think that she wasn't lying about the Yamcha thing too.
And I hate to drag the topic further down this road, but as a final note - I know people really do this sometimes in real life, but if Yamcha had really been cheating all that time, I can't imagine why someone as strong-willed as Bulma would have put up with it for all those years before finally breaking up with him.
On topic, I'm kind of looking forward to the Bibidi special. I've always wanted to see more of that story touched upon, but I should keep my hopes in check considering...

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Why no color? Every title page is colored...
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

Imo : Majin buu, Uub , Vegeta, Kakarotto, Cell, Tapion, Vegetto, #18, Gotenks, Buu, Son Bra, King Cold, Vegeta, Gast
Next : Goku, Uub, Vegeta, Cell, Vegetto, Buu, Son Bra, Gast
Next : Goku, Vegeta, Vegetto, Gast
Then some event happens where Vegetto gets evil or something from Bardock visions.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm doubtful of the special chapter's quality in terms of argument. In my opinion every single special has been total bullshit and boring, they are slow paced, breaking the momentum of the normal comic making it really slow, which it's especially annoying when it's already dragging.
As for those predictions, yeah they seem the logical ones I guess, except that I think Vegetto will lose in an unexpected way, and I also think the tournament will be interrupted at some point. Actually, 18 and Gotenks might lose due to underestimating their opponents. I have no predictions for Cold vs Bardock, it could go either way. I also won't make any predictions for the third round, not before I see more of the characters, we didn't actually see many of these guys fight properly.

Well, the art kicks ass. I'm hyped for this already.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
As much as I would like to disagree you do have a point. So far every special (with the exception of the the Trunks special and maybe even the last one) has been a kill fest extravaganza. I have some faith that his special will be different, this might just be more than "Buu kills everyone. The End." kind of story.DNA wrote:I'm doubtful of the special chapter's quality in terms of argument. Yeah, at least it isn't anywhere near as Liefeldian as the Bojack Special.
