I pick 2000. 1999-2000. Somewhere in there. That was the peak of "OMFG THIS SHOW" for me. Everyone at school was into it. And there was a shitload of merchandise eeeeeverywhere. DBZ Fingerboards. And walkietalkies. Random shit like that was neat.

My birthday money in 2000 (I think) was spent on nothing but DBZ figures. A lot of which I still have. I think during one of those years, I got the ps1 version of DBZ Legends and an Action Replay Gold to make it work. Fun times. Nostalgia. Blah.

Definitively seconding the 2008-2010 sentiment. :)

Not to sound cheesy but 2008 was definitely my best year for me. Why? Because I rediscovered this awesome forum and realized how many cool people like me are into the franchise. Before that, during 2005-2007, I was starting to fall out of the fandom but this forum pulled me back in. Not to mention when I found out there was a DB related podcast, it blew my fucking mind.

1999 because that's when I made my site, first started getting into the JP version, Season 3 was announced after the constant repeats of 1 and 2 on CN, and everything felt so new/fresh/exciting.

Like VegettoEX, I can't really pinpoint my favourite year, but perhaps I can with my favourite years. It must've been 2004-2006. In 2004, I was introduced to DB through video games such as UB22, Final Bout (thanks to many playthroughs at my friend's house :P ) and Budokai 2. My sister later bought me the first DB manga volume in 2005 or 2006, for my 10th or 11th birthday, practically introducing me to the manga (not sure whether or not I actually knew that it originated as a manga, and the most I know was that DB was about Gokuu's childhood, but from that, I went on to buy all 26 volumes! ).

Oh, and 2009, when I discovered this ol' forum. Love you guys (Vegeta in the background muttering, "Hmph, you Earthlings, so sentimental..."). :)

It looks like a lot of people in this thread got into DB during the recent years (2006-current) and I was hoping to see more old school posters. I guess 2001 for me when I saw the midnight run episode of SSj2 Gohan vs. Cell and I have been hook on the series since then. I remember the days when I used to hate DBZ seeing how popular it was and I didn't understand why people like it? I'm not crazy about DB as I used too but becoming a fan for the first time was awesome.

Summer of 1995 - I find Dragon Ball on the TV. It was the Ninja Murasaki fight.

September 1st, 1997.
7:00 p.m.
"Canal 5" airs the first episode of Dragon Ball Z in Mexico. Then it's interrupted half way through for a statement of the President. I assure you, in that moment millions of children cried out in rage.

2011
I rediscover my love of Dragon Ball.
I realize Dragon Ball Online can be actually played outside Korea.
Episode of Bardock + Manga adaptation.
I teach my 6 year old niece about Dragon Ball... she loves it.

Whichever year I started watching DBZ in Japanese.

2001-2003. 2001 was when I first got into it and then of course my fandom grew as I continued watching on Toonami. Add 2007, as that was the year when the first Season set came out and my fandom was restored
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

2009 would definitely be the year for me for many reasons

-Dragon Box announcement

-Completing my manga collection

-Got the Dragon Box for Dragon Ball

-For the 200th episode of the podcast, I got to go down to New Brunswick and meet Mike and the others. That was a great night getting to know everyone.
