SM-dood wrote:I bought the Part 1 Blu-ray last year at the end of May... come to think of it, that was the first Dragon Ball thing I ever actually owned. Time passed and the whole music scandal stuff happened, but I forgot to and didn't have the funds to get the other 3 parts with Yamamoto. Luckily I managed to snatch up Part 2 with Yamamoto some months ago from Rightstuf for a reasonable price (still have yet to watch my part 2 Blu-ray...), but yeah, I'm still buying it. Eventually I will, anyway.
I'd really like to have what is avaible in Yamamoto with that score [on blu-ray], but if not... I guess I'll just get the Season 2 release in July. I'm almost kinda hoping FUNi makes a mistake with this set too :P Although that'd be bad as well
DBZKS1+2 have been confirmed to have the replacement soundtrack.

Yeah, I know they have the Kikuchi score now... I just wish the Yamamoto blurays weren't so hard to find :S (The Walmart dvds with Yamamoto on the other hand, they've always been easier to find for me, but I haven't seen them lately.)

I will only buy it if there is an Ocean release of it otherwise no, I will not buy it.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

Firstly, the replacement score is horrible, and secondly, I wanted the Buu saga.

I will most certainly not buy it.

I just have no interest in such a half-assed product (, music debacle and series continuity issues aside).

Well, I already have them with the yammamoto (not sure if I spelled his name right) score up to the Freeza saga which is all I really need. Not sure if I will pick up the rest all the way until the end of cell.

I'm not for the same reason I did not get the bricks. I don't like the change is voices. And I don't watch in Japanese 99% of the time so I see no point. Sure is more like the manga then the old version was but that's what I have the manga for.

Wait so if you buy Kai you don't get the original score that it aired with? That's too lame.

He does have a point, the replacement soundtrack is too easy and noticeable to be far too repetitive, but I'm okay with it since I love the DBZ original soundtrack.

It's just a shame how repetitive it is in Kai.

Isn't most of it from the movie soundtracks? But yeah comparing part 5 and 6 replacement score with the original score just shows how bad the replacement music was placed. The music director or whatever should never work with dragonball again in my opinion.

It wasn't just his fault, he was given a small amount of BGMs to work with, so either Toei Animation or Shueisha are to blame.

I dunno why they didn't used the remastered Kikuchi tracks from Raging Blast / Ultimate Blast.

They're not "remastered". They were synthesized just not to pay much for using the original source. Personally I dislike the synthesized tracks because they sound quite cheap and the arranger screwed up many melodies.
