They were selling NTSC imported version of the game? That's the only thing that comes to mind.

I remember a store at Paddington's Station used to sell a whole lot of PS2 NTSC games and when I got home the game was black and white, I was wtf is this black and white for, then they explained. The game I bought and returned back was one of the King of the Fighters.

Now that you mention it, I think they do that some times. For example, I got God of War Collection when it was released, and it's the US version.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I seen that happen in the US before too since I remember seeing Jump Superstars at Best Buy before a few years ago.

Pretty sure I saw the game here in Portugal once too....I think? :?

Which would be odd, since we got our stuff from Namco Bandai here in Europe...

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I never had a big problem with glitches whenever I played Sagas.

I remember liking it because it was (and is) the only co-op Dragonball game, which was pretty cool. It also had a wide variety of costumes and characters for the time. Sure it wasn't great, but it was a fun little beat-em-up for me.

Rented it when it first came out. Glad I did, but still enjoyed it at the time.

Recently bought it for about four bucks. Played and beat it again. While it definitely is a bit buggy, never ran game-ending glitches.

And I still sort of have fun playing as the extra characters.

When I got the game, I bought the Gamecube version because for some reason it was only $40 compared to the other versions that were $50. I was excited because it was an adventure game rather than a fighter. At first I was supremely disappointed that it was so linear, but now as an adult, I like it for what it is. I enjoy it and reolay it often. Pendulum mode is so insanely fun to me being able to take Bardock, Yamcha, or Broly around the levels.
