Dug into the ol' DBZ Uncensored vault. How're these for shitty lines?

[Goku] "It must be my diet. I eat really wholesome foods."
[Butta] "You think? Your diet, huh? WELL YOU'LL BE EATING MY FIST NEXT!!"

[Bulma] "Dino here isn't even breaking a sweat!"

[Vegeta] "This is going to be easier than coloring inside the lines!"

[Ginyu] "I've got to get the strength up in this body, or I'm done like dinner!"

[Ginyu] "I hope you're both wearing clean underwear, because you're about to take a trip to the emergency ward!"

And there's a lot more where that came from. 8)

The scene is improved for whoever sees it that way....not for everyone. You don't have to see it that way penguin, agree to disagree. Please.

How can you like a dub that's inaccurate? That spits in the face of the source material and all the people who brought it to life?

It doesn't add up.

Just because you fail to understand it doesn't mean it doesn't add up. There is more to consider than simply accuracy, and the original anime spits in the face of the real source material anyway: the manga. If I want accuracy, I go for the manga, not either anime version.

First of all. I'm pretty sure Funimation's aim (with Dragon Ball anyway) isn't to "spit in people's faces". Second, I think you're overreacting. No one said anything about liking the dub because it's inaccurate. I like the dub all around, there's things we can like or dislike about it. Sabat said something like them having the mexican dub translations to work with in on of his interviews, so I guess you can blame them for that. With Kai now, they did a much better job as far as accuracy. Not 100%, but a decent enough job. Now take a nap.

What a lame excuse. Just because the anime has its problems doesn't mean that the English dub is any good. What you're enjoying so much is practically a different show.

It's not an excuse. I don't need an excuse. As I said, there's more to it to accuracy anyway. And you enjoying the anime is no different from me enjoying the dub of the anime.

That's a false equivalence and you know it.

Then I guess we both fail to comprehend each other. Let's leave it at that.

If you don't want to defend your opinion on why that would be false equivalence, fine by me.

matt0044 wrote:Actually it sounds weirder. Speaking of which, I wish the dub used Son Goku occasionally as well as Goku. Like in moments of importance such as with Kai's "I AM" speech or moments of formality. I mean, to have your family name said first then your given name outside Japan would go with the Martial Arts theme of the show at least for Goku.
I'm starting to like Goku Son over Son Goku, it's just a matter of opinion whether it sounds right, weird, or wrong.

For an accurate dub FUNimation wasn't very accurate in translating the name to the western style.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

The standard for historical names is to leave it in eastern order, I believe.

Saying it improves the scene isn't an opinion, that is an objective statement, what you should have said is that it improves the scene for you, which is pretty stupid in my opinion because its awfully lame and forced compared to the original script which is absolutely epic and actually goes with the theme of Goku's quiet rage.
