I'll just upload the first 12 pages and hope I'll have the next 10 ready by next weekend, but again, no promises.
Please excuse typos, backgrounds, the usual....

I tried to do this commission business once but it didn't turn out so well, due to several reasons. And to be honest, I'm a little wary of making money with fanart. I want to be a graphic novel artist and start promoting my original stuff soon, but after I read the thread about the fan made DB trailer, it made me realize that even the "attention" alone that I got because of said fanart could be seen as illegal use of copyrighted material. I just hope this won't come back and bite me in the behind one day.Man, I wish I could commission work from you Michsi. >_<
That's a shame. I really loved those pictures you did of the characters in Toriyama, Kubo, and your original style. I'd have loved to see you bring that sort of style to DC heroes or something.Michsi wrote:I tried to do this commission business once but it didn't turn out so well, due to several reasons. I wouldn't go that far. Some of the vocabulary used by Vegeta and Piccolo is slightly more informal than I might expect, but what they mean isn't out of character.Maphisto86 wrote:Never thought I would see Piccolo think "crap". There were plenty of times in the main story where that would of been appropriate for Big Green.
If I remember correctly, I know Piccolo said "Crap!" in the part of the manga where they were battling the Artificial Humans near the high way.batistabus wrote:I feel like I can't say enough good things about this series. I look forward to this sometimes more than new chapters of official manga.

Although, a "Let that child alone" reference might not be too bad of an idea.

Oh well, hopefully you can get up and running professionally soon. You're at the very least good enough to go pro and we'll be able to get even better if you can leave grunt work to assisstants.

I hope you didn't take that as a formal critique of the writing. I just never recalled him simply saying "crap" before though I do not have the manga or my DVD's of the anime to look through right now. Piccolo becoming nervous and even freaking out is not unheard of though.Michsi wrote:Well, this is something I haven't thought about much when creating this fancomic. The speech pattern. I just wrote whatever came to mind. I might have been thinking of tfs when I formulated that sentance, but I'm also more used to the german version of the manga where they used swear words all the time.
Well, I welcome and encourage any sort of constructive critisism. The speech pattern is an important trait that can help define a character's personality and I have to admit, I had not given it much thought when writing the dialog. I won't write them any differently, but it was still somthing to note for future work.I hope you didn't take that as a formal critique of the writing. Well..... I'm kinda guilty of this, tbh. My first convention had almost only fanart because I pretty much thought that was the norm for anime conventions. Of course, I knew that this was copyrighted material, but somehow I believed that as long as it was for a convention organized for and dedicated to manga and anime (with official sponsors and so on) it was ok. I wouldn't sell fanart privately. I'm older and wiser now, but back then I was thinking that it wouldn't be such a widespread practice if it didn't have some sort of tacit consent.but won't get you into as much trouble as selling posters and such in bulk at conventions, etc
I know Toriyama sorta, kinda confirmed that she and Ten ended up together, but for some reason, I always imagined it happened after the story ended. I guess it just feels strange for them to be a couple during the story and we just never get to see it.Lunch is still chasing after Tenshinhan, after all these years?
Wait, when did he do that?Michsi wrote: I know Toriyama sorta, kinda confirmed that she and Ten ended up together, but for some reason, I always imagined it happened after the story ended. I guess it just feels strange for them to be a couple during the story and we just never get to see it.

Q2. Did Lunch ever manage to meet up with Tenshinhan?
A. I wonder...Tenshinhan gave Lunch the cold shoulder, but she tenaciously persisted, and ultimately they were together! Couldn't that be it? (laughs)
