Consolidating DVD's

Post by eledoremassis02 » Tue May 29, 2012 9:40 pm

I have a bunch of singles (Saiyan and Namek ocean dub and Ginyu + Freeza saga). The I have seasons 4+5 of the Orange bricks and the dragonbox 3-7.

This takes up a lot of space so I figured that I would buy those 6 disk DVD cases and consolidate my sets! For the Dragon Boxes though, I coppied them so the real disks stay in great shape and are used for collectors value (like my VHS box sets ^^)

Saiyan and Namek _ Dragon boxes & GT are all custom covers and the season sets are scans modified to fit the cases. The Season sets take up the size of 2 dvd cases per set!

Does anyone else do this? How do you keep your collection (DVD and otherwise) from getting too cluttered?

Well, I actually purchased every Dragon Ball related DVD FUNimation put out. I would just collect them. But, shit was getting ridiculous so I put them in a CD book. Long story short. The DragonBoxes came out and I sold my DragonBall DVD book.

So, now I only have a few DB related DVDs.

I don't have anything like this at the moment, but if I ever get a Blu-ray drive, I'll backup all of my DVDs to a couple discs.

Pretty good FUNimation Dragon Box Z clone covers, though, there are custom covers which were created based off of the Japanese Dragon Boxes and look stunning.

GT Cover #1:

If I were to use covers, it'd be these ones (like the GT sample).

By the way, do you have the scans of those Dragon Box Z DVD covers?

Anywho, gonna watch Kiteretsu, now.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I am still working on some stuff like this. Some cases for bootlegs I have seen would be cool to try and replicate for consolidating.

How do you print those? I'd love to make a box set!

If I come across any decent ones I'll let you know.

I've always wanted to do something like this, if only I had blank DVD cases and knew how to make custom DVD covers.

So I have an idea. I bought all the old singles. And I want to make boxset style boxes for them. I have friend that just fold up their boxes and put them away. If I could get some from them what could I use to cover up the art on them and make them blank. I don't want to just glue black paper over them unless its a last resort...any ideas on what to cover them up with?

Hmmm... thats a tough one. There are people who have a cardstock printer that print their own boxsets..but outside of that I have no idea. :(

This might help, but it sounds like what your trying to avoid

Figured out what I am going to do with my singles!

I found a box of 100 9mm slim DVD cases in my closet. So I am scanning the covers in, fixing them to fit 9mm cases and printing them. Works pretty well :) Plus I can keep the inserts and stuff in :)

Now what to do with the original cases...I dont know lol

Sadly they don't consolidate as much as I thought. After I made a few covers I realized that.''

However, if anyone else can use them...here ya go :)
