I chalk it up to them being opposites, Buu being pure evil or just evil since he had South Kaioshin in him. Perhaps when he absorbed the Dai Kaioshin his innocence or purity was strong enough to nullify any intelligence boost he would gain from absorbing him.

Being that Buu's magical biology doesn't like Kaioshin magic, aka Potara, maybe Buu was only able to absorb certain aspects of him such as his magical powers, love of food, innocence, and body stature.

Its an interesting theory since Dai Kaioshin, being the highest God and all, would probably tame Buu's evil and wild side more than the others, but that doesn't really explain why Buu should become such a child-like creature by absorbing him, since Dai Kaioshin probably wasn't stupid or child-like.

I tend to agree. As I said in the comments section too-

I was with this page until the whole "destroyed his own brain" idea. I don't recall that and frankly never thought Majin Buu's change into a playful, childlike being was due to the Great Kaioshin's literal intelligence or personality. We know so little about the character that maybe he was just as jovial and childlike. I also thought Buu's change had something to do with the pure good nature of the Kaioshin mixing with the pure evil of Majin Buu, basically cancelling out the original creature's completely destructive nature.

Here's hoping we do not see a Forrest Gumpesque Dai Kaioshin any time soon!

I expect a Kid Buu return. Somehow he'll get the other Kais out of Buu, transforming him into Kid Buu, then fight Kid Buu in a good fight, but end up losing in the end.

I doubt it will finish off Boo completely. Just a feeling I have.

Judging from Boo's expression, I'm wrong, but we'll see...He must've sensed a level of power coming from that ki attack that can hurt him, very badly, this explains the shock and fear in his face. South Kaioshin ain't no chump, and knows of Boo's regeneration, so this attack may finish off Boo for good.

51% Boo lives, 49% Boo is completely vaporized.

Good point. Boo seams to be afraid, which should trigger his natural defense mechanism. South Kaioshin will expect this and dodge, thus possibly catching Boo of guard, and can then finish him off with this "last resort" ki attack of his.

Meh, Southy's whole monologue seems to hint that there's a deeper plan to this fight than "trigger absorption and kill him when he tries".

A lot of the people in the comments section seem to agree South Kaioshin is going to attempt a rescue of the Kaioshin's Majin Buu absorbed in that universe. Just like how Son Goku and Vegeta were absorbed as Vegetto and managed to survive inside Buu to find their absorbed partners.

Idk, about just kill him but I just think he has some plan to neutralize the Kai powers in him either by rescue or some tech.
