The Dragon Boxes Z aren't coming back, Dragon Ball Kai Season Sets are all there is left to release and then what? Will FUNimation publish 'new' Dragon Ball home video releases?

I suppose they will but nothing as of yet.

All hope I had for FUNimation to release Dragon Box Dragon Ball, Dragon Box GT Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball The Movies has died inside me, but who knows, maybe FUNimation is working on them.

Why do you say this? I thought that from the recent news, the chances of us getting another Dragon Box release have actually gotten better.

Yea, they probably won't go back to Z since the season sets and Kai are out there, but the original Dragon Ball and the Z movies should be worth releasing again as Dragon Boxes. Aren't they supposed to already have the Z movie masters anyway?

I just remember FUNimation putting out a survey for the Dragon Boxes but other than that, did I miss something? :?

I doubt you missed this thread, but since they really don't tell us anything I can see how some people may not get their hopes up as much as others. I am trying to think positive here.

Plus, a 2013 release of the original Dragon Ball anime was scheduled by FUNimation I believe, at least that's what I heard here a few months ago.

That is correct and with the added survey of Dragon Boxes, a Dragon Ball Dragon Box seems the most likely at this stage.

I'm glad I wasn't misinformed about that 2013 release. Hopefully I won't have to settle for the Blue Bricks...

They might have been intended to extend the Blu-ray releases to the original Dragon Ball in 2013. I hope they either release a Dragon Ball Dragon Box, or finish the Blu-rays and include Dragon Ball, just so I can have one consistent, high quality release of the entire story.

Wait a second, Funimation said 100% that the Dragonball Dragon-boxes will be coming out 2013? because I don't ever recall them saying that :?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

People jumping the wagon. They've stated something about a Dragon Ball release in 2013. If that's a Dragon Box, cool! If not, nothing to see here...

No, it was noted in the Harmony Gold thread that they're planning for a release in 2013.

We're just putting two and two together. With the recent Dragon Box poll and that thread I linked to, a Dragon Ball Dragon Box is simply a hopeful possibility.

Well I do hope that you are right. I'm wanting the original Dragonball so bad, but I don't want to buy those Blue sets.(Yes I'm aware that the Blue sets don't have major problems like the season sets, but I would just rather buy the Dragon-boxes.) as for Funimation completing the level sets, I don't ever see them going back them.

I know how you feel regarding the blue bricks. For me its to spend money on something when deep down in my mind I know there is a better alternative. (under most circumstances that is.)

Semi-steep for used, but better than the other prices I've seen around the net. Also, yes, I do believe you are allowed to make threads if you are selling your Dragon Ball goods. I've noticed that many members do this.

What FUNi should do is create their own version of the Dragon Box using their Blu-Ray masters. They did a pretty good job on the blue bricks, so hopefully they'll end up making a couple of boxsets with extra stuff, artwork etc... Honestly, when you compare the Dragon Box footage with the blue bricks, the dbox looks pretty dated.

I wonder if Toei is planning on bringing out anything similar though? That version would undoubtably be better overall.

They were given 480p resolution (I think) Dragon Box Z so if they were to put it on Blu-ray it'd be upscaled.

The Dragonboxes do look dated...but that's what I like about them.

However, I think the Big Green dub of the films looks the most dated..but I think it's one of the best looking color wise. Do the Dragon Box filmes look similar?

The blue bricks came from their own masters, so I assume they would use those.

Nope, I checked. Colors and contrast are different on the Dragon Box.

Not to get off topic but...does the Big Green DVD's have Japanese audio?
