What if Goku never bumped his head...

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

What would have happened? He would have died in the fortune teller Baba arc. The reason? I feel Goku would have naturally progressed in the same way he did in the story anyway, being a Saiyan he would have naturally search for strong opponents. But he would have still had some evil within him even though he'd essentially be good. If we look at Vegeta he also started off evil and slowly became good but that didn't change the fact that he still had evil in his heart, which was something Bobbidi played on to get him under his control(Despite Vegeta actually letting it happen). Back to the point, the reason why he would have died in the fortune teller Baba arc would be because Akkuman would have fired his Devilmite beam at Goku and Goku would be affected by it because he started off evil. Obviously from his Saiyan upbringing before he was sent to Earth, and some of that would have lingered in his soul even after turning good thanks to Gohan.

That's what i think it is also. Imo, the Turles movie is just a what if of Goku not getting sent to Earth.

Couldn't Gokuu have outsmarted him? Perhaps aggressively pummeled Akkuman before he could get his Devilmite beam off?

Gokuu was pretty much dumbfounded as to what the hell Akkuman was doing, even after his Akumaito Beam failed. So he'd be dead for sure.

He was dumbfounded because he was naive and innocent. But here that wouldn't be the case. He sees Akkuman preparing some attack he obviously thinks is going to mess him up, so why not get the jump on him?

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

How can we be sure Goku wouldn't be naive if he didn't bump his head? Look at how many villains throughout the series have been naive in thinking they can finish Goku easily and end up losing. Naivety is brought upon by a lack of experience and judgement. I'll name you a few instances where the villains have been naive and ended up paying for it. Goku vs Daimao Piccolo, Goku was injured to the point that he only had use of one hand but as Daimao Piccolo went to finish him he was Naive in thinking Goku was completely defenceless. Had Daimao Piccolo been more cautious about this then maybe it would have turned out differently. It was Naive of Raditz to not finish Piccolo straight away as he was the only one that could have defeated him. It was Naive of Vegeta to attack Ginyu full force when he knew full well Ginyu had a body changing ability of some sorts. And it was Naive of Vegeta to allow Cell to get his final transformation because he didn't know how strong he would come, but you can blame this on his Saiyan blood too, if Goku was had a choice I would think he would have just finished it. There are many instances of characters who have had naive moments throughout the series.
