How can Gotenks hold the SSJ3 transformation?

Post by DoomieDoomie911 » Thu Jun 28, 2012 8:22 pm

In GT Goku states that he can't hold the SSJ3 transformation very long because of his small body, but in the Boo Ark Gotenks goes SSJ3 and holds it like it's nothing... Doesn't Gotenks have about the same size body as Goku did in GT? And if so, how can he hold it when Goku couldn't?

As if GT logic mattered. But, that does make sense as smaller body should mean less room to hold a lot of power. Maybe you could say fusion magic....because it is two persons, while Goku is one.

I mean, seriously. Fusion magic. Goku had a hard time maintaining SSJ3 as a living ADULT. Fusion magic pretty much explains it.

I agree. That's probably the best explanation.

I just laugh at the thought that magic is giving Gotenks the one up with SSJ3. Really? MAGIC?

Everyone does remember that Gotenks can only hold Super Saiyan 3 for five minutes, right? It even makes his fusion run out early.

Several people on this forum (I think most notably Kaboom?) have actually pointed out that, whether it was the intent or not, Super Saiyan 3 seems a bit other-wordly itself.

The only two people to achieve it are a dead guy who can barely use it while alive and a hyper-powerful, magical fusion. Even then, it actually reduces the amount of time Goku can stay on Earth and shortens the length of Gotenks' fusion.

Goku's problem wasn't that he couldn't stay SS3 because he was a kid. The probleam was that he couldn't sty SS3 because he was a kid and wasn't used to this body. Same with Shunkan Ido.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Magic *snort* *snort*

Memes aside, well, yeah. That's the only plausable answer I can find. Fusions physical body can endure way more than a normal body. But SSJ3 overburn drawback hits the fusion lenght, not his stamina, for some reason.

It might all be the same thing. It's possible that the fusion breaks apart because Super Saiyan 3 uses up all of Gotenks' stamina. That could explain why he transformed back into his base form before splitting up against Buu.

Gotenks is a magical fusion of two beings who seem to have more dormant power than Gokuu, child or adult, anyway, and Gotenks might actually be taller than child Gokuu.

But time seems to be tied to both Gotenks and dead Gokuu when they use it anyway, so there’s disadvantages either way. GT child Gokuu was both alive and unnaturally reverted back to his child body that he wasn’t used to, since he hadn’t been in it for 33 years and had improved a lot since then.

It is hinted in the manga that they are Super Saiyan Full Power.

They belong in the tailless generation of Half-Saiyans, and they can become Super Saiyans easily because of that. They "inherited" their fathers' strength, which is why they were so strong from that age. That's what the guidebooks told us.
