Did Goku Make A Cameo?
In the Dr.Slump manga, did Goku ever make an apperance? If so wich issue is it?
On that note...did Goku apperear in any other anime\manga like a pop in or somthing?

Gokuu is seen in panel in the first tankoubon of City Hunter...
A girl mistakenly thinks Kaori is a man (happens a lot) and afterwards Ryou (the City Hunter) says something like "Just grab for the crotch to see if a person is a man or woman", with Gokuu standing beside Ryou in the panel

It did. Dragon Boy was a practice to see how much Toriyama would enjoy doing a martial arts manga, as well as to see how popular his martial arts manga-style would be. With its success followed Dragonball, which also explains why Dragon Boy was never finished.B-kun wrote:I think Dr. Slump had already ended by the time DB came into being.

The crossover happened during the Red Ribbon Army Saga. Goku and Blue ended up in Penguin Village, and well...let's just say Arale sends Blue flying with her Arale kick. There was that DB/Dr. Slump crossover in Penguin village. I cant remember the exact details.

Also, Taro fixes Goku's dragon radar.
OT-Does anyone know what volume Senbei and Mrs. Yamabuki get married in?
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Well this page right here...

Displays a lot of Dragon Ball cameos, most of them featuring Goku. What suprises me is the huge amount of manga cameos, as well as some American animation references!

Although I knew about most of those, there were some there that really surprised me! Thanks for the awesome link!Eclipse wrote:Well this page right here...

I saw those a while back, this just goes to show how much inspiration DB has provided.
I remember watching Takeshi's Castle on Challenge(Sky TV, channel 121), it's a Japanese game show they did in the late 80's to the early 90's. It was very popular. Anyway, I saw this woman dressed as Goku, she had an orange gi and a tail attached, after I saw another peson dressed as Roshi! He had the massive turtle shell on his back and the sunglasses. They both attempted a task where they must jump on these big rolling pin-like objects that roll when you land on it, they both fell in the water beneath.

Ahh yes....that task is infamous in my opinion. But then, I think that Goku and Roshi appearance just might be a coincidence. While I do not watch the original (I watch the dub known as 'MXC'), I"ve seen a lot of strange costumes and stuff...I think it could just be a coincindence.I remember watching Takeshi's Castle on Challenge(Sky TV, channel 121), it's a Japanese game show they did in the late 80's to the early 90's. Ah, MXC, that is the version that is edited big time, everyone's name is changed, the rules of the game are made out to be different, and it's presented different, but, besides the point, I'm pretty damn sure they were intending to dress up as DB characters, it was literally like cosplay characters, also the fact that at the time DB was big in Japan when this show was running.Eclipse wrote:Ahh yes....that task is infamous in my opinion. I was gonna take a picture with my crap webcam but I missed it. They just started showing MXC in the UK, but I just watch the original, it's much better. Only a few people wear funny costumes, the majority of contestants have standard costumes that the show provide I think.

I've watched Takeshi's Castle on many occasions, as well as the dub. I even remember specificly addressing that same thing either in the chat, or in a topic, awhile ago. I forget exactly where.
Anyway, good eye!
Good to see other Takeshi's Castle fans here. The show just cracks me up, escpecially the BGM that is in the original one, it's funny, shame they don't have subs for the part at the end where General Lee says something. I seem to catch most of the one liners. Have you seen the one with the children? That was so funny, I watched it again on Challenge plus an hour later again.lost in thought wrote:Hey, that's my line!Bejiita wrote:I remember watching Takeshi's Castle on Challenge(Sky TV, channel 121), it's a Japanese game show they did in the late 80's to the early 90's. I didn't realise that Takeshi was actually Takeshi Kitano untill just a little while ago...he was in Battle Royal, can't remember if it was the 1st, or 2nd, or both for that matter.
Anyway, enough off topic rambling.

Kitano is also known as Beat Takeshi. He usually goes by that name when he's acting and Takeshi Kitano when he's directing one of his films. His face looks a little different than back when he did Takeshi's Castle because of a motorcycle accident that left his face with a bit of paralysis. Fantastic filmmaker by the way. I highly recommend watching any of his films. I wish I could have seen that bit from the show, bet it was hilarious.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Yea I thought there was something about his face that looked different in Takeshi Castle. The man has got a good aim though, he's always in the plane for the final showdown just taking out contestants with his laser gun. Cracks me up.Jerseymilk wrote:Kitano is also known as Beat Takeshi. Sadly I missed that episode. The bigger shame, is being an American, so it's difficult to catch the original version (I was able to see it when I had Satalite, but now that I am back to Cable I don't get to see it anymore,) now I watch the dub most of the time when I remember it's on. The dub isn't too bad, so I don't worry. I'll end up seeing the episode if SpikeTv airs it. Heh.Bejiita wrote:Good to see other Takeshi's Castle fans here. Hey don't worry about that, the dub still has the comedy found in the original, the only thing is the game's have crap names(that are puns of sex expressions, sadly) and the commentators go a bit over the top, plus they make out as if there are two teams competing(reds and blues) when in actual fact it's every man for them selves, there are 100 people taking part, basically.lost in thought wrote:Sadly I missed that episode. Anyway, be sure to catch the original when ever they show it...I was upset when I heard MXC was taking over Takeshi's Castle on Challenge in the UK, but they actually air both versions.

Yeah, I was gonna point that out. But the comedy is still left intact. 'Sides, I thought that the commentators' little comments were pretty damn hilarious...Hey don't worry about that, the dub still has the comedy found in the original, the only thing is the game's have crap names(that are puns of sex expressions, sadly) and the commentators go a bit over the top, plus they make out as if there are two teams competing(reds and blues) when in actual fact it's every man for them selves, there are 100 people taking part, basically.
I also note that the page I posted earlier has been edited. Last time I checked, they noted that in a episode of "Kids Next Door" (aired on Cartoon Network), one of the main characters apparently transforms into a Super Saiyan and fights a Freeza like character (eventually going SSJ3). There was also that famous Sonic reference..
