Did anyone do custom Slim DVD covers for FUNi Dragon Box Z?

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Did anyone do custom Slim DVD covers for FUNi Dragon Box Z?

Post by dbboxkaifan » Fri Jul 06, 2012 9:10 pm

After looking at my Death Note UK BOX and Desert Punk UK BOX it made me realize how I wish the Dragon Boxes Z were like that too instead of all together ones above the other discs and whatnot.

So, has anyone done custom Slim DVD covers for the FUNimation Dragon Boxes Z? I might consider since each disc will get its own case and that way there won't be any sort of damage to the disc whatsoever.

I tried it out and apparently it only fits 5 Slim DVD cases (a bit tighter than Desert Punk's box) in it, so the last would have to hold 2 discs if such thing is possible (guess it is). As for the Dragon Book, it would have to stay outside the box.

One thing I noticed was that the quality of the Death Note and Desert Punk boxes were far better than FUNimation's Dragon Box Z's.

^ That's kind of what I'd want, the box's design or the discs' design, either way would be great.

There's 42 discs so I'd need to buy 2 packs of 25x Slim DVD Cases, still, lets see the other responses.

If you used the double cases for all of them, you could get all 6 discs into 3 cases, which might make enough room for the book.

I haven't planned on doing that for mine but I'm eventually going to have something completely different once I've made a Blu-ray version.

I've seldom seen any packaging that I personally like more than the Blade Runner Blu-ray set.

Or you could be super cheap and use numbered paper disc sleeves.

*Looks at box of 100 disc sleeves with less than 10 used*

Other than being a bit hard to pull out occasionally, I'm personally completely satisfied with the Dragon Box packaging.

Hmm. Somthing like this? http://www.amazon.com/SLIM-Black-Double ... m+dvd+case

In that case it'll be 21 cases. If you need help with the covers let me know :)

If you're going to use the same shell casing, what's the point of not using the DVD books that came with them? The reason one would use slimpacks, at least as far as I can see, would be to save space... So why use Slimpacks in the same sized shell casings? I think make slimmer shell casings at Kinkos with 2-disc each thinkpacks.
