Umm Do you guys think they will pull the original Dub actors back or just use the Kai voice actors? Whenever Funimation gets this.
What makes you say that? This isn't the same case as the 2008 special or the Plan to Eradicate The Super Saiyans where there are licensing complications and red tape. Why wouldn't Toei renew Funi's license? It's not like they just randomly decide at the flip of a coin. The movie comes out March 2013. What are the chances of it coming to the U.S. any time soon after that? Don't forget Funi's license runs out 2014. YOU can't possibly for sure know that Toei will let them renew it. So they would have to obtain the movie soon after its release in Japan. The fact that they got Kai right after means nothing. Kai was a joke.
I don't think One Piece is "super successful" here. I mean sure, it has it's fans and I'm sure it's profitable. In my opinion I'd say Funimation will renew their licence because Dragonball is their cash cow. always has been. I've never known of them not renewing it. Anyways to try and get back on topic. I always was a sucker for those tournaments. No. No its not, Tanooki already said something but One Piece has been doing "Alright." recently here in the US, mainly thanks to FUNi re-releasing the first 205 episodes in bigger sets, then added the streams on Hulu do pretty good in Hulu rankings and popularity but its no where near Naruto or Dragon Ball level here in the states, not by a long shot.TheNamekGio wrote:One Piece is a entirely different monster. Well and Kuririn's Kame dougi. Also, Toriyama loves to create new designs, it's what he does best, so there is a strong possibility that the movie will feature new characters, and that means new villains. Strongly disagree for the fact that Kageyama is best identified with Z. Also he's got an amazing voice and dozens of amazing songs. I prefer any of his over any vocal song of Kai. I think they have Head-Cha-La on lock for that lol. JSAT Special, post-Boo, Head-Cha-La. Seems like the go-to opening. There is always a chance that someone in the US will buy the rights to DB after Funi's rights come to a end. My guess that Viz will end up trying to since they own the rights to DB manga in the US. And that they seem to a good job on their video releases. If they pick up the rights to DB then I would imagine that they would end up buying the rights to the film too.TheNamekGio wrote:
