Why didn't they also include Goku & His Friends Return on Raging Blast 2?

Maybe because Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans is more serious & action-packed, which would mean that more people would buy it, rather than a comical, "reunion" style special?

I'd wager it's more that the 2008 Jump Super Anime Tour special was produced by Shueisha, whereas Namco-Bandai had Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans commissioned on their own.

Since Toriyama's directly working on the script, I hope there isn't a reference to any of the other movies. That'll stir up a whole canon debate real quick.

I've been saying that for a while. The best thing we could have would be totally original characters unrelated to any previous characters.

I actually would like to watch a movie about Majin Ozotto. He is only a Videogame chara and doesn't have an animated appeariance, yet.

That's great news!! I was worried that they shortened again and again the length of every new Dragon Ball stuff they were doing (45 minutes in the past, then 30 minutes recently, then less than 20 minutes with Episode of Burdock). It seemed like they were losing interest in the franchise. And now it seems like they're taking out the big guns: it seems it will be a full length theatrical film, with Akira Toriyama involved like never before, from the beginning, and seemingly having an active role on the scenario, looks of characters, etc...

Finally, something BIG rocks the Dragon Ball world!!
Now the hardest part is ahead of us: we'll have to wait for 2013! Hopefully, lots of information will be released as months go by!

Video Game only characters!! What about Jungle King Bimbo and Kurilien from Senron no Nazo, alien Synthesizer and the mighty Lord Konpei from Daimaō Fukkatsu, Soba the Yardrat (Sagas), the Warlord and King Triceratops, or the wise and mighty Robert (Legacy of Goku II)

As much as I want to see him animated in something more than a commercial, I honestly don't think I'd like SS3 Broli to be the main villain after already having 3 movies. I wouldn't mind if the first 5 minutes or so were a cameo of SS3 Goku and Vegeta killing him without much effort, setting up that the two of them are still active and doing their thing. Things can appear to shift back to peaceful times to them, but let the audience know that new wheels are turning and setting up the new main villain.

Broly is an awful character and a huge stain on the franchise. Not to mention a waste of Bin Shimada's talent.

If Broly's the main villain in the new movie, I'm pretty much done with the franchise. It will show that there is no creativity left at all in it.

As soon as I knew Toriyama is involved, my hopes went high; especially because, as I said before, there's nothing Toriyama loves more than designing characters, that's why he does it so much. If he loves designing new characters, why would he waste his time with designs that already exist and weren't even done by him?

Though the idea of having the new SS3 (Broly, Vegeta, Gogeta for the time period on which the movie seems to occur) would not be impossible, due to the fact of having introduced them with cards and being able to promote it through the big screen, well... It seems unlikely to me that Broly would be involved in the scenario, considering Toriyama is involved in the scriptwriting process: he's never been much about accepting new stuff from the anime staff (despite drawing characters for the movies), except for his acceptance of Burdock.

I think it's more likely that, just like for the 2008 movie (in which he had even less involvement than for this one), only new characters or characters from the manga will appear or be mentionned. It's not 100% sure of course, but it seems more likely coming from Toriyama. And, with a plot involving Broly-destroy-it-all, I guess there would be no need for a scenario by the original author himself, it would be hard to find a GOOD scenario to bring him back yet again (a fourth comeback after three "he's dead for good now"?!).

However, SS3 Vegeta is a possibility, especially since it occurs after the story ended with Vegeta still resolved on surpassing Goku (in the Kanzenban / Perfect Edition ending), and the kids proved Goku was not the only one able to reach it, with enough training. And, less likely because he was never introduced in the regular story, but SS3 Gogeta is a possibility too (even if they choose not to take into account the Janemba movie, the idea is compatible with the original manga if Goku teaches the dance to Vegeta much like he did for the kids, and Goku did have the idea to perform the dance with Vegeta first in the manga - lamenting that it was no longer possible due to Vegeta's death).

We've already seen Broli SSJ3 so to bring a new Broli to the table then it'd be Broly Super Saiyan 4.
