Again, it hasn't been confirmed that Miira and/or Towa were Makaioshin. Also, I don't think that a Japanese data book made by Shueisha would have such detailed information about characters from a Korean video game, which wasn't even released/finished at the time the Super Exciting Guides were published.Piccolo Daimao wrote:I wouldn’t mind a Makaiou or Makaioushin as a villain, since we haven’t see them physically in any official material other than DBO

Sorry I haven't read through all the posts yet. but is there a confirmation as to how long this movie will be?
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I'm so relieved this isn't going to be "Dragon Ball Kai: The Buu Arc The Movie"! TuT
I don't care about power levels or if they're done realistically to scale, I just want a fun, action-packed movie.

Kei17 recently said Dragon Ball Kai is disappearing more in Japan so it's sort of obvious that Toei Animation wants Dragon Ball Kai "dead".Chuquita wrote:I'm so relieved this isn't going to be "Dragon Ball Kai: The Buu Arc The Movie"! TuT

Dragon Ball Kai had a bloody amount of problematic issues and reviving it wouldn't be such a good idea, so thank God they're not bringing it back.
To be honest, I shouldn't have spent money on the DBZ Kai Parts 5-8 [Blu-ray] because the PQ isn't that great and the replacement music left me very unhappy. Cancelling was bad enough but replacement music? Even worse.
Note: It's not the music that's bad but the music placements and the limitations of BGMs used in the series.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
It's a fairly heavy implication that Towa is, Miira is artificial... And seeing how Toriyama, and the rest of the license holders, were working on the game for YEARS before the SEGs came out, its not that far of a stretch that he would want to trickle little hints out to the Japanese players for when DBO was supposed to be released in Japan shortly after Korea. Who knows what happened with that though, the Japanese DBO website still updates every now and then though...JeffJarrett wrote:Again, it hasn't been confirmed that Miira and/or Towa were Makaioshin. Doesn't Towa wear Potara earings?

Getting of topic now, but she wears something similar. That doesn't prove anything though, as even Zarbon had "Potara".

Like TheDevilsCorpse said, she is not the only character in the series who is not a Kaioshin but wears Potara-like earings. Don Kee from Dragon Ball GT, and a random fan at the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai also wear earings that are very similar to Potara. The Budokai Tenkaichi fan having a single yellow earring similar to those Vegetto wears, and Don Kee wearing two red Potara-like earings.

This weekend has a fun week since we got the web site up for this movie and March will be here before know it. Outside this web site, has their been any hype for this film at all? I guess things will start kicking off when we get more info and that forum will have a lot of people viewing the forums more then we normally do.

You mean other than the 2300+ comment discussion going on at that Japanese website? This isn't the only Dragonball or anime website in the world you know. I didn't realize people came to Daizex for news all the time, there's plenty of other sites out there that specialize in this. Always considered this place a unique informative site with a strict base of rules in terms of what content they even provide. But yeah lots of hype for this outside this website, Comic Book Movie which has a large fan base being one of them. Several other Dragonball fan sites out there as well.Hellspawn28 wrote:This weekend has a fun week since we got the web site up for this movie and March will be here before know it. Takaki composed the music in both Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans and the Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes.dbboxkaifan wrote:Just imo, but I found Takaki's music in EoB to be quiet, left to be desire and room for improvement, but if it's anything like on Ultimate Blast film cutscenes' music which I think Takaki composed then we're good to go.RazorX wrote:As for the music, like the Episode of Bardock, I hope Hiroshi Takaki is composing it.
Though, I'd prefer new Kikuchi music for this DBZ film just to have all the original cast for one possible last reunion.
Episode of Bardock used music from both of them as well as some new themes. E.g Frieza vs Bardock music is the Hatchiyak revealed theme, Bardock overpowers Chilled music is Goku's arrival on Namek theme.
The music in the Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes was amazing and high quality. The music in Plan to eradicate the Super Saiyans was good as well. If Takaki is the composer for this film, I'm expecting the music to be at least as good as the Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes music.
As for Kikuchi, I don't think he'd return because his music is "not modern" and Toriyama informed us they're going for classic and modern flavour with this film. I wouldn't mind Kikuchi's return though as his music in DBZ movie 13 was amazing and It'd be interesting to see where he goes from there.
My first preference would've been Yamamoto....
Kai had great ratings. It was regularly in the top 5 and always in the top 10 for the whole of Japan for Anime. Kai thrashed other widely known Anime, such as Naruto and Bleach.Hellspawn28 wrote:I thought it had poor ratings which is why is they never did a Kai version of the Buu saga?
Why the Buu saga has not been adapted into Kai yet is speculation.

I wondering if the timeline placement of this movie won't conflict with Bulma saying she hasn't seen Son in the past 5 years....

I thought about that, but then I realized that Goten and Trunks looked like they barely aged. So I'd put in the JSAT era.CashmanX wrote:I wondering if the timeline placement of this movie won't conflict with Bulma saying she hasn't seen Son in the past 5 years....

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
I'm not a fan of the Hiroshi Takaki "score". I'm not exactly sure why. I guess it just doesn't measure up to Kikuchi or Yamamoto for me. If they do go with him, I hope he composes entirely new tracks.
We all know Yamamoto doesn't have a chance in hell, which I think is a shame.
I'd be perfectly happy if they just used old Kikuchi tracks like in the '08 special, but it'd be really awesome if there were some new tracks by him as well.
Someone entirely new might be interesting, too.

They really should just get the guy who composed GT ...
I dunno, I think Akihito Tokunaga contributed to some of the franchise's best music, followed by Yamamoto.

Re: Mystery Jump Countdown: New DB Movie Confirmed!
Yeah, let's do a total BGM chaos, but well, I liked Kikuchi's tracks a lot in the 2008 SP (i know those were old pieces from show, but it totally fitted this DB reunion after 10 years the Z/GT went off air) and the music in movie 12 and 13 was marvelous and he progressed same as the art in the series, so saying he's not modern is not true, it's like saying about these groups emulating 80's sound that they are not modern. It's without a doubt that he will work with completely different equipment and he will also sound completely different from the last time we heard him. It will be total blast to have him do a new score!
Even Seiji Yokoyama returned in 21st century to do some new pieces for Saint Seiya Hades OAV after more than a decade and also did whole new score for a Movie in 2005.
That new composer who switched with Yamamoto sounds kinda generic to me. Like the music is forced on purpose.
Yamamoto's plagiarism aside, being it original or arrange, he is awesome musician technically speaking and Kikuchi's music is unforgettable for that atmosphere it added to the series and one of the thing which caught me completely into it when it ran on TV, it wasn't sounding like other scores at the time in different anime.

Correct. The reason for Kai's cancellation is most likely due to the poor sales it did with the merchandise & home video releases.RazorX wrote:Kai had great ratings.
