I know that, that's why I said, be less idiotic with the edits.
Instead of Sparkles they can do something else.

I don't think you do. Saban will have nothing to do with edits, just like 4Kids had nothing to do with them. A change of who's in charge of the block isn't going to change broadcasting standards.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:I know that, that's why I said, be less idiotic with the edits.

But IT WAS 4Kids who edited the show. I meant Saban (The company, not the man) will have to meet the Network standards sure, but he may edit in a more clever and less moronic way.AgitoZ wrote:I don't think you do. The CW doesnt edit the shows by hand. The company in charge of the block does.

Re: Saban's new Block The Vortexx.
"Sigh"
Lets start over again. The CW doesnt edit the shows. All they do is give judgement of what is to be edited. And its true, if they DO NOT want something on a show, it WONT be on the show by the time they air it.
Even 4Kids admitted they edited the shows they did to conform to Standards and Practices, and it will be the same with Saban.
Where did you get the idea that the CW is the one making the edits?

Why are you still using "he"?Cure Dragon 255 wrote:I think that while Saban wont be more lenient, he'll at least be less moronic in his editing.
How do you know CW is the not the one that specifically told them to use sparkles?Cure Dragon 255 wrote:Instead of Sparkles they can do something else.

Re: Saban's new Block The Vortexx.
I'm not sure why Saban Brands wouldn't just reuse the tapes from 4Kids. It would cost less money than to re-edit those episodes to fit to any changes in broadcast and standards. The only time you'll see any potential changes is if Saban Brands picks up the remaining episodes of Kai.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
Re: Saban's new Block The Vortexx.
Personally, I'd avoid DBZ and any other Anime clearly too violent for the CW. Stuff like Digimon (I wish) works better (content wise from the JPN version).AgitoZ wrote:How can Saban be more lenient with censorship when the CW has been the one handing out notices the entire time?

Sake of ease. I could have used "they" but meh,too lazy.gmster wrote:Why are you still using "he"?Cure Dragon 255 wrote:I think that while Saban wont be more lenient, he'll at least be less moronic in his editing.

Of course 4Kids edits their shows. Kai wasn't their show. They just aired it.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:Even 4Kids admitted they edited the shows they did to conform to Standards and Practices, and it will be the same with Saban.

It should also be noted I never once implied CW edited the shows, in fact I was saying the opposite.

Ah so you mean Funimation edited the show...Oh god this is confusing...
And 4Kids DOES own the 52 episodes they bought from Toei/Funimation.
Man, I missed talking so much. Its so much fun.

No, The CW gave BS&P notes to 4kids on what they wanted changed in DBZ Kai. 4kids didn't have a choice but to apply the edits themselves.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:Ah so you mean Funimation edited the show...Oh god this is confusing...
The words of a former 4kids employee:
I would first like to address the blue Mr. Popo in Dragonball Z Kai first. Yes, we changed him blue. We didn't want to, and our graphics department has enough work to do, but we did it. We did so because CW's BS&P department forced us to do so. They are the ones who claimed that it was racist and were unwilling to air it unedited despite the fact that Nicktoons has no issue with him (on top of the fact that he was also shown in all of his black glory on the WB back in the 90s).

There! Mystery Solved.
And hey, even if the editing IS as horrible(I dont find THAT bad) It is fun to bitch about the edits.

Re: Saban's new Block The Vortexx.
It was never really a mystery. A 4kids rep on ANN stated before they started airing DBZ Kai that any changes from the Nicktoons version is because of the network.Cure Dragon 255 wrote:There! Mystery Solved.

Look, all I care about is watching Duelist Kingdom again before I die with that old awful dub I love so much. Are they going to loop around back to episode 1 any time soon? (Man I wish they'd release easy to get seasons of that show.)

I hope you get your wish.

Re: Saban's new Block The Vortexx.
There's been a schedule change for Saturday, August 11th. DBZ Kai will be airing from 8am to 12pm; everything else is pre-empted. I have an itch we'll finally see the Android/Cell arc when Vortexx starts.

I think Saban wants to hype kids for The Vortexx!
