A panel for "We're getting near?"? Great.

I call bullshit on Raditz even knowing the word "conscientious".

I have no problem with it, they can sense ki and Raditz uses a scouter to discover their location.

Why?

It does seem unfitting for low-class Saiyan thugs to use such big words. It's also just makes the dialogue sound overly wordy and unnatural.

I think he just likes the panel.

Nitpicky, much? They're not dumb, you know.

Isn't this the same Raditz that made the weird...lamp things, or whatever they were described as...into his eyes so that he could transform into an Oozaru at will? The same one that fought Bardock in the Tournament I mean.

If it's that same Raditz, he's clearly a lot smarter than our canon Raditz was anyway, so I don't find it too problematic that he's using bigger words.

Why is he smarter though? The universes aren't meant to be different "just because".

Both that version of Raditz AND Nappa seem to be quite a bit more clever at the very least.

Was it ever said that Raditz himself created these?
One Raditz can't be smarter than the other Raditz. If he is, then it's a plot hole.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Clearly in this universe, Bardock was a brilliant scientist and passed some of his knowledge on to his son.
Usually goes by "Kevtrev" elsewhere online.
Draws comics that may or may not have been blatantly inspired by Akira Toriyama's manga.

Well...I can't remember for sure, but I think that the exchange between Bardock and Raditz had something like this -

Bardock: If you created something like that back in our universe, we might have beat the Tsufurians.

Didn't it? And Raditz didn't really do anything to rebut the idea that he himself made them...but I guess that's not really proof that he made them.

Hope Raditz isn't going in for a headbutt. At his current forehead size, that would hurt like hell.

It's weird though, even with the forehead (which is still a bit much but not as bad as in a few previous pages), his actual face looks okay.

It would look okay if the torso was bigger. I think that's what makes this panel weird.

It would also look better if the hand was bigger as well.

Or if the head wasn't so huge.
