You do know it's a show for kids, right? And that your "some autistic YouTuber" classification is probably grounds enough to get you an account warning here, right?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. I don't see any good conversation coming from this discussion. I see people bitching about other folks' bitching, and then looking like absolute tools in the process of said bitching about bitching. You're not helping either side, and in fact, making everyone look worse.

I personally don't mind "bashing" of Dragon Ball. If there are any sacred cows in the world, a franchise based on a kids' manga series shouldn't be one of them. There are plenty of well-reasoned arguments against the series that we as fans bring up on a regular basis, as well as more than enough legitimate reasons why a non-fan would not find the series appealing or even good.

That said, the nature of the series, that it's intended for and often consumed by kids, makes it so that a lot of "arguments" against it boil down to poorly-written, poorly reasoned flame debates, full of ad hominem attacks and inabilities to accept different opinions. And then there's the flip side: fans who feel that attacks on the series are attacks on them personally and behave accordingly. That is representative of the typical DB bashing comments I am tired of.
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

For those who complain about the voices not being in their language, what should countries that they don't even have their language in text form say? It's not very hard to get used to it, if you try.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

That is correct -- I've already explained that.

Again, the Japanese voices have been standard inclusions in the North American releases of all the major console Dragon Ball video games since the "Greatest Hits" re-release of Budokai 3.
Didn't the Gamecube version of Budokai 2 had the Japanese voices to select from as well? I always thought the Gamecube version of Budokai 2 was the first DBZ game to allow players to use the Japanese voice cast?

Here's a strange one: "If Dragon Ball is a shonen, then why isn't it as violent as Deadman Wonderland?" This was before it aired on Toonami.

I didn't even know that DW was a shonen.

I do find it funny that people will hate DB for being a kids show but love Bleach when it's a kids show as well. I remember guy at Gamestop give me shit for still liking DBZ but he had a G1 Transformers t-shirt  .

I actually don't mind any Dragon Ball bashing. One of things I love about Dragon Ball, is that despite it being a show that I greatly enjoy, I can also make fun of it. Dragon Ball through Z and through GT all have their facepalm moments, and I poke fun at them just as much as a hater, and due to me not playing along and actually agreeing with a hater on a lot of their points, they give up quicker and we move on to something else.

Nope. And I know, because I would've done it if I could've.

I don't understand. What's more convenient about playing the video games with the English dialog? That you have to go into the options first to switch it?

You're acting like playing the video games in English is some kind of moral crime. It's not about convenience, some people just like things in their native language. And then theres the people who simply prefer the dub voices. Oops, went of topic.

Eh? Mike was specifically replying to someone who described it as convenient, and questioning how it was convenient. I don't think he was acting like it was a moral crime or anything.

I'm a person who likes to watch things in their original format (Which is why I refuse to buy the Star War blu-rays). I see nothing wrong for people to enjoy the show in Japanese then in English. I never like how some fans will treat the dub as some perfect dub and that we must go by what it says. It's those people who can't enjoy anything unless it's dubbed.

Bingo.

Other comment refers to things like Battle Stadium D.O.N. and Ultimate Butoden (not to mention the Stars crossover games), which are only available in Japanese. If you want to play them *at all*, you're playing them in Japanese, mission objectives and all.

Miiiiike. Butouden. ULTIMATE BUTOUDEN. You should know better than to confuse the simple, yet amazing game with that janken crapfest. =P

GAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

I've been doing a lot of video game stuffage lately, so everything with a "Shin" and an "Ultimate" and a "Budokai" and a "Butoden" is all jammed together in my mind. I make no apologies, but I profusely apologize.

Nuh, uh, not really, not any more.

Getting angry over comments is stupid.

Trolls on Xbox LIVE now that's something worth trolling about and pissing them off, although, the troll can get trolled back if he's not used to troll correctly.

I can't help laughing on the inside and thinking "what a damn fool!" whenever I hear someone saying how much the original Japanese voice acting and/or soundtrack sucks.

1. Goku sucks he got hurt by rocks and glass

2. Goku can't even lift 40 tons he gets beat by hulk

3. Goku died from a planet buster attack he is weak.

4. Freeza did not blow up planet vegeta like in the bardock movie, the movie is non cannon

5. Freeza failed to destroy planet namek no one in dbz is a true planet buster except until we reach to kid buu.

6. Freeza is a core buster

7. Cell solar system busting statement is a hyperbole.

8. High tiers in dragon ball arei only mach 1000+ because the OBD did calculations and they said so.

9. Freeza got killed by a sword, this shows that dragon ball characters are weak.

10. Freeza did not tank a planet exploding in his face while near death it was off panel so he does not hae planet+ durability.

11. Dragon ball martial arts suck compare to DC/Marvel all they do is a few kick, punches and spam ki attacks.

12. Goku/Vegeta are not martial art geniuses they are idiots.
